I've lived in Sydney 50 years and know all of these great places.... thanks for reminding me how lucky we are because it is too easy to forget and get trapped in everyday life and forget what is so close if you just get off your bum and go.

You could get to Kuringai National Park by public transport by catching a bus to Palm Beach then jumping on the ferry for a 10min ride to the Basin. A long journey, but doable.

In the Blue Mountains? If so, it’s a long but relatively easy hike with an eco lodge to stay overnight on the route. Well worth doing
