Man I have never felt so far away from home than I have right now, yet so close! I just cannot wait get back to NZ with our little girl so she can finally meet all of her NZ whanau. I lost my beautiful daughter and I keep a light on for her at night as she was scared of the dark. This song just touched me so much with the beautiful words. I will keep the home fires burning till I see her once more. It also gives me strength so when I miss her with a pain in my heart I listen to this song and it all falls into place. Thankyou six sixty

I love this song, makes me tear up and warms my heart...every time I hear it now it makes me think of Sean Wainui. Never knew him but this song reminds me of how proud he was of heritage and being Māori.
