His second try was pretty spectacular too. The strength to reach out and ground the ball, under huge pressure, was immense.

I thought the referee was excellent also. However, the game was played with virtually no niggling or professional fouls, which seemed rather old-fashioned and maybe made the referee's task easier.

Apart from the clear forward passes at 4:38 and 4:43

Its great to have a closely fought competitive test match and no one is talking about the Ref afterwards. The all NZ officiating team did a brilliant job.

I was obviously delighted to see Scotland win but I hope England keep up the game plan. They have so many weapons and can utilise it if they just get their minds around it. experimenting against Scotland, who love to play that way, was maybe unwise but you have to start the revolution somewhere.

Hog has barely played for awhile due to injury. I am sure he will be back fully for Scotland as quickly as he can.

Fair assessment although I don’t feel hogg had a bad game either, no real mistakes I can think of and he sometimes makes up for it with that bit if energy or fight, especially around areas/moments in the game where it’s easy to fall asleep such as a penalty…

Yeh he wasn’t afraid to step in as scrum half to keep quick ball, presumably a deliberate tactic but saying that he executed really well.

Seems like a set piece move, but I have to give credit to Tui. Wasn't convinced by him when he first played for Scotland, but he didn't set a foot wrong in this game

He then has to accelerate onto the ball and catches it midway on the light green strip of grass. Even with ‘momentum’ rule that’s debatable at best. Pause again at 7:56 and you’ll see a snap shot of Fagerson and it’s clearly coming forward out of his hands. Not that I care, Scotland deserved the win, a more complete performance over the 80. And I do believe you make your own luck and in the main ref decisions balance out. But it was a forward pass all day long. 😜

Fantastic game, (from an England supporter) the game was constantly interesting and you Scots deserved the win!

They have beaten Wales in Cardiff for the last 6 nations and Australia after the competition. But still, we beat them in Rome while the english ref was clearly in favour of the Italian, english ref should be banned from the pitch, since they can't do their jobs properly without giving non justified advantages to the opponents of the French. Anyway, I am confident the next match against Ireland will display a much stronger French performance 💪🇨🇵
