The core remover tool... I learned something new today! The tool being used to pull the valve into the rim. Thanks very, very much for your taking the time and showing this. Best.

Thanks bud! Helped a ton! Also, to anybody else watching this. Don’t drop the valve stem inside the tire. It’s a pain in the ass to get out!

SAFETY WARNING: TR413 / TR415 valve stems are rated to 65psi SO if you need a stem for say an 80psi 15 passenger van tire, OR for a rim whose hole metal is past a certain thickness, then you need to google the correct valve stem. Otherwise a sudden blow out can occur and cause loss of control or a roll over... Thanks for the video. I'm off to Walmart to get a slime brand TR415 stem in stock, now that I know what I need to from research. Take care

I did two of mine on my motorcycle with the wheels still on the bike. I broke the bead with two heavy duty slip clamps and two 2x3 pieces of wood. Then I kept the tire squeezed and reached my fingers inside the tire to get at the stem. Easy peasy.

You know what, ive had the same tool since i was 18 and i allways thought that internal thread was only for cleaning the stem thread up, its got to be for pulling the stem through like you just showed. Ive had that tool 30 years and never seen the connection, lol there is allways something to be learnt :-))

I'll learn ya up a little North American inglish... Many verbs that are irregular in the Queesn's English have become regular in NA. Past tense of treat, for example, is tret in much of ur isles but treated over here. Learnt too, has simply become learned. Had to be re-educated in elementary school here as I spoke like my British(Geordie even) mother. Good day sir.

Nice instructional video. I used to hate seating tires on split rims. I'm glad they're mostly gone now. I had one ring let go (rim was worn but technically still serviceable) and it bent the cage. Took a few minutes to get the heart going again.
@sixtyfiveford10 жыл бұрын
iceman22st Those were scary. I've never had to do one personally but I've seen it done. It doesn't take much, at least you had it in a cage.
@iceman22st10 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't do a split rim without a cage
@mosthated8635 жыл бұрын
Spit rims are very dangerous if you don't know what you are doing so say you got it on and back together it is worth working the hammer around the lock ring to make shure it won't fly off and hurt you also any rust or gunk between the ring and the rim must be cleaned off peferably a wire brush or a wire brush wheel that connects to a drill 👍

One heads up most videos miss about the soap or spit on the valve or bead of the tire..... That moisture does make it easier for an object to be pulled/pushed into or onto the rim. What's missing? The moisture assist is also why more tires are punctured when exposed to rain/mud/snow. A dry nail will meet more resistance in pushing into a tire. Therefore not fully puncture. Same nail with wet tire has higher chance. Just sayin'

If you set your air compressor regulator for no more than the tire is rated then it won't explode while setting the bead.
