These are throw away scooters and need constant upkeep which can be frustrating. It was fun getting it "presentable" again and possibly another decade of life.
WHAT HAPPENED TO GINGER?
She broke a blood vessel in her ear from hitting her head on something hard. Blood fills up the ear and separates the skin from the cartilage and can cause a bunch of other issues. She had to go into surgery earlier this week but is in great spirits after a few rough days.

Next time repairing ABS plastic, dissolve scrap abs plastic in acetone until the desired consistency is reached. can be used like glue or even like pudding thick to reinforce parts from the back side. once the acetone evaporates, the ABS remain and fully hardens.

For anyone wanting to recover a motorsickle,atv,atc,scooter,or bench seat.. Go to the sports store and buy a pool table cover,they're about 35-40 bux and come in many color choices... You can make a lot of mc,atv,atc,lawnmower seat covers out of one pool table cover for less than the cost of a single seat cover... Yes you can redo a full sized old school truck bench seat with one if you can work with hig ring pliers and rings...

just picked up an '04 with 9.9 miles ( now over 200. ) The only similarities are the ABS sticker ( doesn't feel like ABS ) and the alarm/remote start button. Bigger wheels and tires too ( not the little suicide tires most 49cc's have. ) Vento R4 Triton 2 stroke 49cc assembled in Laredo with Chinese/Taiwanese and Japanese components allegedly. Just needed a carb clean and new petcock as they both had that molasses quality to them. The kicker? The 9.9 miles. Looks like new. It has an external fuel locking cap which required a protective plastic keyhole cover to be broken off upon purchase. Which 17 years later still hadn't been broken off. I genuinely believe the original owner couldn't figure out refueling ran the factory gas dry and parked it. It was stored in a nice modern garden shed with factory cover and the Vento backpack smells like new. I need to figure out the switchgear as the turn signals and horn switches don't work. There's power as the turn signals work with the alarm. Now if the welfare kids don't rob me of this one like they did the last one I'll be able to pay my bills as a food delivery guy. I'm not holding my breath on the first part of that last sentence. It does chooch though even at half throttle for the break in period.

The beauty of iy is that for 100bux you can replace the entire body,seat included..full wiring harness is 25 bux,new carb 15 bux,etc... Tires off fleabay are usually 40-50 bux a pair shipped to the door... Those engines actually make great power and run great once the oem harness is replaced and the factory carb is replaced.. The transmissions are pretty good too... Brakes suck no matter what you do to them but they do stop you,eventually...

My dad got a free 150 gy6 from someone at a yard sale. The son left it on the moms yard for years and she finally got fed up with it and just let my dad take it. After a day of researching and learning about these things, all it took was a new CDI box, and a carb cleaning. I replaced the coil and plug as well because it's cheap enough. It's a lot more beat up than this one, but we have random parts kicking around the farm from years of yard sales (and hoarding sadly) so I've thrown on some random turn signals, random headlights, etc. Gravel roads to and from my friends place so it'll do for that. First time I ever rode a 2 wheeler and I took the thing to 90kmph on a gravel road. Scared the shit outta me lol

I think the correct way to refer to these vehicles is to say they are made to a certain price point. Not necessarily that they "fall apart" on their own but that they are not made or even designed to to do what a real Honda or Yamaha could do. They are by comparison, to those much more expensive vehicles, mere inexpensive toys. If you know that going in you won't be disappointed in the end. The bicycle industry is the same. Every single component on a Walmart bike is made to the cheapest humanly possible spec. A good quality handlebar by a name brand component company can cost as much as an entire Walmart bike. In truth it's astounding that those Walmart bikes work at all!

Adding an inexpensive product called ethanol shield before winter storage can save your carburetor.
@sixtyfiveford
@sixtyfiveford Жыл бұрын
I will say products like ethanol shield are better than nothing but not great and definitely not a cure all. All they do is add more alcohol(ethanol) to the gas to help mix with the water ethanol pulls in via condensation/humidity. This allows water to essentially burn and not stall out the engine. So they solve the issue of ethanol by making it worse.....? The best thing you can do is drain the fuel completely; virtually all equipment has carb bowl drains for this reason.

This is an entertaining video very humorous. My neighbor purchased a Chinese POS. She asked me for my opinion I told her unbranded Chinese scooters are built to the lowest quality possible, and consider a quality Japanese brand. She had the audacity of asking me to fix the damn thing after I told her not to buy the POS. I helped in that I towed it to the local scooter/bike mechanic.
