If you think about it, fire has a triangle. Heat, fuel and oxygen. Chainsaws have a triangle also. Power, bite and wood. When either one hits the perfect combination, the results are excatly what you're looking for.

Thank you much and appreciate you watching again. It is so fun to run a sharp saw. Likewise, it is terrible to run a dull saw.

Sweet little gadget that really seems to work well👍🏻 I've said eyeballing it works fine for my firewood since I don't sell it. But I'm getting more interested in one with each video!

I am going to keep running it and seeing how it goes in the long run. I would say the only apparent negative is if you want to switch it over to another saw. Best to set and forget this particular tool. I kinda would like 2 of them. One for the long bar and one for the chainsaw with the short bar. We will see. Thank you AP!

Hi Oskar, I use a flexible plastic rod that screws into the bottom of the bar handle. Cheap on Cutters Choice and works like a charm and very quick.

Thank you for sharing! I have never gone that route but i really like this particular set with a longer bar. Very nice to not have another bit of kit to keep track of and or damage.

Hey Oakie, I'm with Hillcrest Hay - would be more efficient to work from left to right bucking your log pile with the laser. Glad to see the 562 hot started with no problems as I'm sure you were ready to call BS on mine doing the same... 😉😉

hahahaha.... mine is intermittent in that ability. I am wondering if it depends on the ambient weather conditions. Maybe a certain humidity and temp along with saw temp all factor into it. Glad you saw that buddy! My rakers were a bit too aggressive on this video but I wanted to load up the saw a bit more due to some comments mentioning that. Trying different things. I will not touch the rakers for a bit going forward on this chain.

chain is sharp and cutting nice wondering why you wouldnt cut left to right instead of right to left seems like it would be easier and faster?

That is a great question. Some of my decisions are for camera placement due to lighting and ease. Sometimes I do however do things silly. I always have a vision of what the camera looks at and I try to accomplish that. Great guest and thanks for watching!

Hey, Mr Joe. That lazer is awesome. I've never given much thought about chainsaw boot. I think I may need to get a pair they look like they could help. How does Hackberry burn? I've got a few I can take down for firewood.
@oakiewoodsman

Hackberry is great firewood. Remember, here in Oklahoma, we have a lot of firewood snobs due to the abundance of oak available. All wood burns and hackberry does too. My friend that has burned for years was fond of hackberry. I have burned more of it outside in the past. Nice stuff to cut friend!

Interesting mod. Once tightened, does it hold up against being beat and banged around? My saws ride in the bed of the sxs so they slide around or bounce off other tools... I'm also thinking a similar setup on the sawmill to line up cuts would be nice.
@oakiewoodsman
@oakiewoodsman 3 ай бұрын
If you laser is set back a little during usage, it would be far more protected. If the saw were able to bounce around and get firewood tossed onto it, the laser would likely not hold up. The plastic case would likely be destroyed easily. If the saw were mounted on the SxS or tractor, it should not be an issue. Also, keep in mind, the machines aluminum parts are the more costly bit of the setup. The red laser by itself is actually very affordable. As far as the bracket coming out of adjustment, I have not had that occur yet. That part is extremely well made. The set screws have stayed tight and my saws have not vibrated them out. As far as the laser on the sawmill goes, I think that would be an excellent choice. When I worked in a cabinet shop, we had a straight line rip saw that we would use on the rough cut lumber. Really good to remove runout from a board or in your case, a crooked log. You can really reduce the amount of cuts you make to produce a good cant. That is better for time and blade usage IMO. Brock mentioned they can be finicky but I would be willing to give it a shot. In reality, all you would have to do is take a slab off and adjust the laser to match the edge. I don't think it would be too made. Thank you again Lucas!

Hey. So I broke my laser. Got bumped and pushed in the bracket and cut the on/off button off. I had the red one but debating on the green one. What’s your opinion on the red bs green laser ? Thanks man.
@oakiewoodsman
@oakiewoodsman 2 ай бұрын
I never thought about that but surely the aluminum bracket could easily take the rubber button right off. I honestly have not tried the Red one yet so I cannot speak to the difference. I originally was after the green so that is what I have stuck with. Not sure if you are aware but the battery life is much less on the green and I think the green laser also more $$$ last I saw. If the red is good for you and your eyes can see it in your conditions, I don't know if it would be worth it. Battery life has not been an issue for me because I am always on top of keeping everything topped off. Rarely do I buck for 2.5 hrs straight and if I was, it would likely be in some big wood where I would layout my cuts and turn the laser off and keep rolling. Let me know what you think if you get the green one!
@olepedersen2795

@@oakiewoodsman I was looking at the green one. Kinda gotta hunt for the red one. Battery life I don’t think will be an issue for me either. And I think they’re like 10 -11 $ more. I’m thinking I’ll try the green one Thanks man.
