Because of your tutorials I dont feel alone anymore. I know it sounds silly but I live far away from my friends and family and I live alone with my husband with whom I spend 2.5 hours on average a weekday. (because of his work) I cant work because of injuries. And you came along! From the bottom of my heart...thank you.

I cried watching this. I have several chronic illnesses that keep me from working, let alone have a hobby. I originally started sewing again to make the heated corn bags which help myself and others who suffer in pain. I came across the Missouri Star Quilt Company by accident or maybe fate. I have done small projects and was very motivated to make a quilt. sewing clothes is not my thing, but quilting is! I have days I can't even get out of bed. I get my daughters to bring me my sewing machine and I set it up on my breakfast tray and start sewing! so the part about disabled women so fits me! thank you for all you do! This simple girl appreciates it so much!

I love you Jenny, you are such a comfort and inspiration for me. I am probably older than you but you remind me so much of my Mom, whom I lost when I was only 25 years old. I miss her so but find so much peace in your videos and love of fabric just as I do and my Mom did. Thank you so much.

Hi Jenny I bought a laptop computer and whilst learning how to use a computer I clicked onto KZfaq. I had never heard about KZfaq. Whilst browsing, one of your tutorials popped up, I clicked on and I discovered a hobby. I am passionate about quilting and four years later I am still quilting. My computer skills are improving not as much as my quilting though. What a wonderful tutor you are, and you make quilting such fun Thank You

I'm a huge Jenny Doan fan. I've wanted to quilt for years but never knew how. I sew some for my home but don't do clothes. You've given me so much and brought quilting within reach of thousands of women and men all around the world. Plus you're such a sweet person with a great TV personality. I'd watch anything you're on. And I, too, love Sizzix and Ellison so when they brought you on, they made a brilliant move. This is such an exciting time to be a sewer, quilter and crafter! I wish I lived near Hamilton, MO!

Jenny, you are a fantastic person. Thank you so much for the wonderful tutorials. I haven't quilted in eons, I am now 72 and want something to do instead of sitting in my recliner and make something for some that is needed or wanted. Because of many different medications that I have to be on, I have trouble concentrating, short and long term memory, etc. Your tutorials are a life saver. I am now making your Summer in the Park Quilt Revamped and find it fascinating. I have to rewind the tutorial over and over because of my concentration, etc. and I do quite a bit of ripping, but I have made 3 baby blankets with charm packs, etc. Thank you, thank you. Keep the tutorials coming. God bless you and yours.

Thank you so much. I pray I have enough strength to clean out the room to make as a sewing room.

I recently discovered you and Missouri Star Quilt Co. here on KZfaq and I'm already drawn in. I am a sewer, learned when I was 8 and now I'm 51 and I've sewed on and off over the years, but recently got the bug in me again and I am feeling obsessed. I turned my dining room into my sewing room! I am not a seasoned quilt maker but I do understand the basics and I know they're in my future. I love sewing all sorts of smaller sized things. I stumbled upon your tutorial for making bags/purses out of charms. I love how you teach and I loved learning about your journey in this video. I'm from NY and I now have the Missouri Star Quilt Co on my bucket list! Thank you for all you do!

I just found this video and I want to first say that I have come to think the world of Jenny Doan! I have several conditions (syringomyelia, spondylolisthesis, Pars Defect, Degenerative Disc Disease) and I had to retire on disability. That was so very hard for me as I have worked since I was 15 and absolutely loved my last job! But I have found recently that I love sewing quilts and picking out patterns and fabric. It takes me a while because I cannot sew for very long periods because of all of my back issues and pain, but I sew at every opportunity. I want to make quilts for my home, for my children who have always had a special quilt that they carry everywhere, my grandchildren and also to give away to sick children at St. Judes and Scotish Rite hospitals. Those are my quilting goals and you are certainly helping me to accomplish them. Please don't stop the tutorials! They are wonderful.

You have "blessed the lives of others" if only with your infectious attitude. I've watched other videos where the people seem tortured to even talk to strangers, let only try to teach them. You teach, but you also inspire people to understand what you are teaching and WANT to try it themselves! I so enjoy watching ALL your videos whether I ever expect to try that technique or make that project. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Jenny, you are such a wonderful person, I just watched the video on how you started working with Sizzix, and what you said about your tutorials is so true. I had to retire from work in 1994 due to cancer, and I cannot work because I never know how I'm going to feel from day to day. Now it's been 18 years with a lot of surgeries and pushing every day of my current life. Last year I started to learn to quilt, only because of watching one of your videos on Utube. Well, this has gotten me so involved in my quilting and it has helped me cope with my illness and I love it. I can quilt when I'm feeling sad, sick, sore and any time I need me to block pain, it's sort of my pain control. I just love you and your site. Although I cannot afford too much supplies, but I watch and order when I can, because I need extra meds and foods to keep me feeling well enough to keep going. You have helped me with your tutorials and I love you so much for what you have done. I admire you and I think you have a wonderful family and you are so gifted and talented. May the Lord Bless You and Your Family for days and years to come. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and soul.

thank you so much Jenny for you and your tutorials. I retired and 2 years ago I decided I was going to make 4 quilts a month...thought if I made 48 in a year that would be something. I don't drive and so I went on-line and found Missouri Star and you. I feel so blessed to have started that. So last year instead of 48 I made 110. This year was harder as my husband retired and we have gone on road trips as well as him being at home I tease him and say he is cutting into my quilting time. So far this year I have made 96 and In October when I was complaining about the tension on my machine he said it was time I got a better one and bought me a Janome. Scared me at first because it has so many functions but as it is larger I just completed a King size quilt ( with shams ) for my 19 year old grandaughter. I got emotional when you said about giving them away as all of these blankets and quilts have been either given as gifts or donated..some now live in Kenya, Columbia, U.S.and Canada.... and I again want to thank you for your inspiration. Have a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2017

Jenny, I absolutely love you!!! I swear I wish Springfield, Mass was next door to Hamilton. I would be a frequent flyer if your shop was closer. I totally agree. I started sewing with the intention of getting into garment making. I did my first quilt for my eldest niece and never looked back. Now I have a goal of making one for all of my loved ones. Funny thing is I've had people tell me I should sell, but i always explain that my quilts are made from love. You're so right. You start with a simple goal and before you know it, you're quilting for the sheer joy of sewing. Thank you for the great tutorials and I wish you and your family the best.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Jenny is absolutely the best and I always feel like she's a dear sweet family member coming to teach me something new each Friday! (or any time I need inspiration) Any time somebody asks where to find good tutorials for beginners.. I always recommend Jenny. Usually at least 10 other people in the comments have recommended Jenny as well. She is truly a blessing!

What a wonderful video - thank you for sharing. You made me cry and smile at the same time talking about the letters you first received. You are a true gem Jenny! I have quilt blocks that my Great Grandma made by hand that my aunt finally let me have about 8 years or so ago. They are sitting in a boot box and I have said there are so many of them I should make some quilts with them. I'm not good at sewing in fact I'm not any good cutting using a ruler and a rotary cutter. I am a crocheter - I love it by now I have a bad shoulder that has had surgery on it but need a replacement. I have a few years to go before they want to replace it. Thank you again for sharing so much with so many people - I love watching your videos and also the one with Rob from Man Sewing. Have a blessed day Jenny!

Jenny, After watching this video, and I have nothing but resepct for you and what you do. I started quilting by doing cross stitch embroidery quilts that my grandmother taught me how to do. It was about 13 years ago that I decided to do piece quilting. I am the only one in the family that does the piece quilting. I wanted to thank you so much for your lessons so easy. I have learned a great deal from you and the easiest way to do things. You are absolutely correct when you say that as a quilter we do change as time goes on. I have given more away than I have in my house. I have been working on an 8 pointed star and honestly the star is not the issue its the four corners. lol Than you for all your help, you are a wonderful lady. south carolina surgical tech.
