06:34 - the extra stop at the end of the platform is for the voltage change-over from 15kV to 25kV. Going south the operation is slightly different: the train coasts through the voltage changeover with lowered pantographs, and arrives into the platform using only magic! 06:42 - the flashing light is positioned at a level crossing providing level-access for railway employees: the flashing light signals that a train is approaching/crossing. A small ramp can be seen just after the flashing light.

I love your Euronight Berlin-Stockholm series and totally agree with our hint at 15:35. Your videos do carry this night train vibe one can experience when going to sleep in some place and waking up in the middle of a wonderful landscape. It definetly carries the feeling of a railway experience video. Thank you very much for your work and for trading your hours of potential sleep into this content.

Thanks heaps @Doc7Austin for all the effort you put into your videos. I’m a train lover so naturally of course I enjoy the train ones. I think it’s great that you really focus on giving the viewer a genuine rail experience. I especially like it when you critique the food. It’s both fun and informative.

As a dane I am sad that we have two night trains going through my country, but none of them can really be used by danish passengers. SJ's train arrives too early and departs too late, and Snälltåget only stops at Ørestad - a small commuter stop in one of the less populated parts of Copenhagen, that only has a ticket machine and barely any shelter from weather, while the train skips Odense, the third largest city in the country... The most frustrating part is DSB's complete lack of interest in night trains. Our only hope of seeing night trains at Copenhagen Central again is if ÖBB is willing to open a NightJet connection with their own locomotives...

Yeah same. It would've been great if the Malmö-Brussels train that was tendered alongside the Stockholm-Hamburg train in this video ran, but because of German rail regulations illegalising subsidy on long distance routes, combined with the abnormally high track access charges in Germany all together meant that no one bid to operate that train. SJ was the only bidder on the Stockholm to Hamburg train and only because the train ran for such a short distance within Germany.

Wait, what happened to Snälltågets previously scheduled stop at Høje Taastrup? I took the night train from there for around a year ago with a quick S-Train ride, but now they removed the stop? And if so, whyyyy??

@@NordicRail They seem to have moved it to Ørestad station instead. Probably because it's closer to downtown and therefore easier for more people to reach. It also means there won't be a change of stations in case one of the 2 lines going out of Copenhagen is disrupted.

The construction work between Odense and Ringsted will allow for 200 km/h operation, but first when they get the ERTMS signaling. In tbe future both the Vectron+Talgo wagons for the Copenhagen Hamburg service and the new IC5 trains will use the top speed of 200 km/h. So there will be 250 km/ between Copenhagen and Ringsted. 200 km/h bwtween Ringsted and Odense and 250 km/h (if not 280) between Odense and Middelfart just before the Little Belt crossing. Ringsted to Fehmarn (And Lübeck) will also be 200 km/h.

@@doc7austin Not anymore. In recent months the Vectron got certified in a "Bridge" configuraiton that allows running in Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. Snälltåget have begun using 2 Vectrons in this configuration, one in plain white, and one in Snälltågets own livery. With leasing companies like Railpool, ELL, and Alpha rains now being able to offer Vectron locomotives for leasing across this route, it should be a little bit easier to find locomotives for trains on this route for passenger trains.

why passport check if german and denmark are in EU?
@kaarethor

In 2015 many migrants traveled from Germany to Sweden via Denmark which resulted in this "temporary" passport check. At one point there was also a check between Denmark and Sweden. Supposedly the check is now no longer performed on all trains from Germany to Denmark.

The sentence" I am on this this train" is grammatical error. This I am pointing out as in other blogs also it is likewise. U are not on train, u are in the train, as u are inside the carraige not on the carraige.i.e .outside but on carraige.
@user-lv6rn9cf8m

*is a grammatical error. And no it isn't. You're on a train. You're on a flight. Here's from a learning English site: "If you can stand up or walk inside the vehicle, use “on.” If you can only sit in the vehicle, use “in.” You cannot stand inside of a car, for example. Here is another way to remember: For private transport, such as cars and trucks, use “in.” For public transport, such as trains, buses and planes, use “on.”" Because it's short for you're on a train ride. But you are in a train when you're on the train.
