Man he put his heart and soul into this, everything went to training. I have to respect this man.

He had passion and willpower. For me, as a strength athlete, he is a motivaion, because he had that insane training-intensity. And he spoke german very good ! :-)

What a story man the end made my heart tear up. People don’t know or understand how hard of training throwers go through. It’s a dark dark tunnel. One day my goal is to be in the Olympics throwing discus with the big guys I know Ricky looking down he would approve

Truly awesome documentary. It's a pity that Ricky Bruch isn't as publicized as some of the other greats such as Mac Wilkins or Jurgen Schult. I didn't hardly know anything about him accept for seeing clips of him within compilation videos. He deserves more respect and belongs alongside the other Godfathers of throwing.

Interesting perspective, I guess in some sense true, not getting sent to the olympics in particular, as even for an individualistic sport, you are dependent on others (to get selected for example). On the positive side are his achievements of 70+ throws so all in all I didn't find it sad, but to me this film shows passion for discus throwing and the reality of life.

Ingen betvivlar väl att Ricky knaprade piller och injicerade steroider, men undrar ändå inte om scenen vid 21:00 är överdriven. Speciellt med tanke på att det finns många andra skönlitterära scener i den här filmen.

Not able to recognize the exact track, but it’s by the Swedish composer Ulf Dageby; His music is on Spotify and other streaming services, so You’ll might be able to find the track there. Good luck! Edit: just realised that I’m logged into another of my profiles when answering your question; I’m “Michael Andersen”, the uploader of the vid.

What an absolute legend. And a terrific film. Every bit as eloquent as Pumping Iron, yet without a narrator. And yes - inspirational.
