This discussion SJ are having is to promote SJ as a group to the new generation that knows them best as mcs, actors, directors, variety members, etc. and not to westerners to try and gain attention from kpop fans. You're viewing it as an international kpop fan and taking into consideration the inane things westerners say about them but their reputation in korea is totally different. Teens (and most people really) love Shindong, Heechul is really loved by gp (except by the radfem crazies), Teuk is a household name, Siwon is a top actor and Kyu is a variety God and ballad prince. Hyukjae's been getting more attention in recent years and Donghae is somewhat known as an actor. Yesung and Wookie are the least known of them all (to non ELF) In the end, they're only doing it to keep the SuperJunior name alive as they fear their solo celebrity status have eclipsed the group as have happened to many well known korean celebrities where most people have no idea they are/were part of a group.

SM policy seems to be to blur anybody that doesn't have a contract with them/ that they don't want to have to contact for permission or pay for portrait rights. Just makes it simpler.

They blurred out hankyung, the chinese member! I think they did that because hankyung sued SM bc he had a slave contract and was unfairly treated. It wasn't because he himself did anything bad.

it's SJ 3.0 cause like the teaser they're kinda making fun of SM 3.0 😭 i thought the teasers were so funny cause they copied the sm 3.0 videos with the same background and everything and in one of them it was kyuhyun and donghae imitating when theyre the ones who left sm hahaha I was also soo sad hyukjae wasnt in the first few episodes but i hope he did take some time to relax cause he had a crazy schedule with several flights/concerts while he was hurt. They've always blurred past members just cuz lol but it didn't happen in some recent content like the documentary so i was also surprised to see it here; i guess cause it's on their official channel sm had to do it. They even blurred sungmin here which i dont think they used to do cause he hasn't "officially" left, but they did unblur it and reuploaded the episode days later lol and it now has less views For reaal we've been saying just put suju together in one room and it's gonna one of the funniest shows Btw Label SJ apparently dissolved and now theyre under Center 5 with EXO and RIIZE

I can see why Hangeng wouldn't want older members in SJ-M; he probably felt more comfortable telling younger members what to do as leader. Of course maybe he didn't want the burden of managing that tom and Jerry situation either. 😂 Love that Leeteuk was fully aware that he had been "rejected" and was fine with it, meanwhile Yesung is left completely oblivious for like 16 years.
