@@Smith89123 What debate? He doesn’t like it and thinks it’s brutal, it’s a subjective opinion, there’s no debating that. Just because boxing has the occasional death does not mean it’s more brutal, not many arm breaks in boxing for example and some people just can’t watch that.

He perceives it as more brutal than boxing, there is an argument it is, for example some people can’t watch an arm being broken without severely wincing or feel like throwing up, to those people it’s more brutal. What else? He doesn’t like rolling around? Plenty of clinching and ground work in MMA so he has a pint there. Go on, name which facts he got wrong, I love boxing and MMA, Simon said nothing wrong, are you an MMA fan that’s just upset he doesn’t like it just like Molly?

@@jimsim8736 the facts are in boxing you get punched in the face 500x you might get punched 50xs in an mma fight. That's the facts. His "perception" is based on a lack of understanding that you get hit 10xs more in boxing. That "rolling around on the floor" as he degrading refers to it isn't brutal in any way. It's all because his posh sensibilities. Its not about him not liking rolling around. It's that he claims mma is more brutal when it's clearly not.

Like yourself, I too am a boxing man Simon. I can appreciate the skill required for MMA/UFC but prefer Queensbury Rules. However, I wouldn't recommend trying it - I remember the bar at the Metropole next to the Birmingham NEC after the big Mobilexpo show when you were the head honcho at The Pocketphoneshop back in the 90's. Another big noise in the mobile industry at the time who wasn't a fan of yours was rather 'refreshed' and a number of us stood back spectating as you both danced around each other at the bar, the pair of you made Herol Graham look aggressive. Made our night.

If you don’t like something and can provide a legitimate reason, that has to be respected. If we all felt and thought the same, it would be one boring place to live. Unfortunately in todays world a difference of opinion is not encouraged and quite often frowned upon. The art of asking a question of information provided is also a problem these days. Quite often with negative connotations, of something that really should be encouraged if done in a respectful manner. Simon is a dying breed, because he’s more than happy to provide an honest opinion, without saying he’s right. I Love Molly and Paddy’s energy that they are bringing to UFC, but don’t take Simon to heart, he’s one voice and he’s entitled to it.

I had an old housemate who was big boxing fan but didn’t like mma - I’d watch pride(shows how long ago) and ufc and he didn’t like for same reason as Simon but he ended getting into as learnt about and what was going on - Simon would end up liking if watched it but If he chooses not to watch enough to get into it that’s his choice and opinion

Perhaps if 'Molly' whoever was more adept at being rational and proportional when it comes to other people and their comments, she would have other ways to express herself than violence? Because, at the root of it, only a certain kind of person goes into fighting sports, as spectacular and courageous as they can be. We live in a world of assumed offense. Now, talking about hitting someone seems as acceptable as 'cancelling' them, at least if it's a woman hitting a man.

In fairness to Jordan, he didn't say anything bad about the sport, he was merely stating the fact that it's brutal. It is brutal! i happen to enjoy watching it but i totally understand what he's saying. Not once did he say he didn't respect the sport. He is one of the most intelligent people on talksport and well worth listening to as he always gives valid reasons for his opinions.

I as well as my whole family get together to watch UFC, we want vicious knock outs, broken bones, elbows cutting people open, we want the blood. The worst ufc nights by far are the boring nights, next to no KOs, mostly points, mostly Cage grappling or ground holding, give us wars, brutal submissions and kos all day long.

To be fair its his opinion, he doesnt have to like it but maybe the way he talks about it kinda looks down on the sport of mma, its fighters and fans so i guess thats where the issue lies

From what i've seen with MMA fans, they are really passionate about converting other people to watching it.. I have a few friends, I just say "well, i'd rather watch the latest WWE PPV than the latest UFC" and they go into me "it's fake, it's not real! It's 17 Olympic sports" Don't care mate.. If I want to watch a man with a pet snake attack a person pretending to be a country singer, that's what i'll watch.
