The first man (Christopher Hitchens) was such a gentlemen. He literally said that he would look after a women, and allow them to not ever have to work, while still allowing them to work should that be what they choose. How is that a wrong thing to say? I WISH I could have someone that would be willing to provide for me, and not make me have to work, while still respecting me, and giving me all the freedom in the world to work if I wanted to.

I have something to say to all of y’all in this comment section part and by no means am I trying to be disrespectful but even tho he was being polite I still think he is wrong and yes everyone wants to be fed without hunting the fact is no one is entitled male or female. The fact that they were showing is that females need to work just as much as males. They don’t deserve it just because they are a female. Feminism pushes everyone to be equal and while I know I might get some hate for this comment the fact of the matter is is that females need to work just as hard. They all realized that and that is where I’m thinkin y’all didn’t pick it up. Their point is that they shouldn’t be spoon fed things just because they are females they should have equal opportunities and should have to work equally as hard to get the same things as males. him saying that Is in a way disrespectful or rude because it is saying they don’t need to work as hard to get the same things and while that may seem great to some it isn’t to all. For instance if I didn’t have to work as hard to become a doctor as my peers I wouldn’t feel accomplished and I wouldn’t feel accepted and as I point out It is all based on a matter of opinion. Would everyone want to be spoon fed the answer is no. There are some but not all

This was a brilliant example. Similar to the other Ben Shapiro video where the young lady wanted to discuss institutional racism but had nothing to back up her stance as soon as he finished speaking.

"I've given you every chance to opt out of that last statement" Christopher doesn't 'opt out' of his statements because of your feelings, lady. He says what he means and means what he says. He's not going to back out of it because of your own misunderstanding of what he is stating and the fact it doesn't align with popular misbelief... She was *already* at a position of defense before he even said what he did. She pounced right on the opportunity despite it being a notion that she simply couldn't possibly wrap her mind around! He even literally said 'if they want to, that's fantastic' totally one hundred percent supporting if they WANT to work. His view is actually really quite charming in a sort of chivalrous way; he's so in awe and truly loves the women in his life that he would gladly take care of them if that is what they wanted. I merely saw it as him being genuinely endearing and sweet. You were spunky yet gentle man, Mr. Hitchens.

Honestly I'm 20 but I'm the same way as him. If I could I'd gladly work extra to provide so that the woman doesn't have to if she doesn't have to. If she wants to then that's perfectly fine. I came from a single mother and I dislike seeing women doing so but that's just my personal opinion. I want to be able to provide. I want to be able to start a family and be a father when I am ready. I'm also not the kind of person that can't work. I love having a job. Even though I complain about it I enjoy just having a job. So I see no issue with women working. And if I get beat out by a woman for a job and she is genuinely more skilled than me then I should have to try to do better so that my labor is worth more. People don't get it. We guys are raised to want to provide and make sure we don't screw up. Us guys have caught some serious hell and we aren't even allowed to show emotion or empathy. It's quite weird. If they want to erase some double standard then why don't we start with us guys not being allowed to show emotion and seen as weak if we do. If you have any good sound arguements with what I've said id like to talk about it. I love seeing new viewpoints
@jamesjfisk49684 жыл бұрын
Hitchens was smart and often funny, but he wasn't gentle, and he often acted like a complete dick, insulting people and ideas just to provoke people or piss them off. And even that's cool, but it doesn't make him a sweet gentle man. He launched a huge campaign to villify and destroy the reputation of Mother Teresa for God's sake. Even he wouldn't describe himself as a nice guy.
@eesynopsis73934 жыл бұрын
@@jamesjfisk4968 Possessing one quality doesn't automatically cancel out others. I really have to say I dislike this kind of simplification: it is not an accurate portrayal of the complexity of human beings. Seems like this is a very 'he's nice or he just isn't' this is why I said he is spunky as well as gentle. He was a human being and possessed many different sides. We all do, and different attributes come out when we are with certain people, as well as ones we suppress. I saw his response as a window into another part of his mind. Just because he could be insulting with his wit doesn't mean he wasn't gentle with the women in his life who mattered. Do I know if that's the case, no, but was just my opinion on the dynamic that played itself out here in this lecture. Also Mother Teresa was a fucking disgrace to humanity, so good on him for calling her out on her evil bullshit.
@eesynopsis73934 жыл бұрын
@@jamesjfisk4968 One more thing I want to address: there is a difference between provocation for the sake of it, and merely having very strong opinions that happen to provoke reactions in others, and for that Hitchens was completely unapologetic. Perhaps not always the most effective way of *connecting* with people, but I don't think that is what he sought.

Night Rider if i was making more than enough money to support a family, and pay for all expenses that go along with having a family (groceries, housing, clothes, any type of "luxury" like vacations and all that good shit) then why should my partner have to work? they can if they want to but they dont have to.

you may be right on your statement about men and children but she is calling him sexist for the whole women and work which she clearly didn't get what he was saying. Men are capable of taking care of children. True. But the guy said that men are helpless when they are faced with the baby not that they are incapable of taking care of them, he also said that men are impressed of how women always seem to know what to do with babies. So in my understanding of his statement he is saying that in his oppinion men are not as good as women in taking care of babies and thus they do a better job at making money instead of taking care of babies. So he is leanning more to a men are better at making money than women and women are better at taking care of kids opinion. At least that is what I understood his statement and thus opinion is. Which is his right to have and I fail to see how that is an excuse for her to call him sexist. It is not an outdated oppinion. It is from my perspective his way of showing that he loves his partner. In the way that I will go and make money for you and our family and you instead of working and struggling with all the stuff related with work, you can stay home and help our children grow by taking care of them. I see it as such at least. His way of showing his love. Which is no a bad thing nor a sexist way of commiting to a relationship. In my opinion.

All Christopher said was that he's not going to force his woman to work, the contrary would be abuse. Yet she took offense to that? I'm so confused. I think she interpreted it as he doesn't want women in general to work, thus the reaction. But no one who even remotely listened would've heard that.

Feminists don’t understand that women having the choice to stay at home and spend time with their young kids in the most precious fleeting years is actually a privilege. But thats one of the reasons (as a woman) I always felt that feminists are the ones who are sexist, because they view stay at home moms as inferior some how to working moms. They actually don’t like femininity or womanhood they view it as inferior. To use their terminology back at them, they are the ones who have “internalized misogyny”.

When I was in my doctor's office s day ago there was an image stating that when you are dealing with someone who has Alzheimer you should think about "feelings, not facts". I’m amazed by the first clip in that the woman was hearing him, but not listening to him. But, to end the interview by calling him “sexist” shows you how dimwitted that woman really is. He was a gent throughout, and didn’t deserve that at all.

For the clip starting at 7:42. I love how they shout "We must love and support one another." While neither loving or supporting the people they are causing to be late getting to and from work. They also shout "We have nothing to lose but our chains" while literally forming a human chain to prevent people from getting to their homes and/or job. Could also mention the obvious "love and support" felt by the victims and emergency personnel in vehicles that are likely being held up down the road, but hey who cares, right?
