From Chapter 17: "Sal veit ek standa sólu fegra, gulli þakðan, á Gimlé; þar skulu dyggvar dróttir byggva ok um aldrdaga ynðis njóta." A hall I know standing | than the sun fairer, Thatched with gold | in Gimlé bright; There shall dwell | the doers of righteousness And ever and ever | enjoy delight." From Chapter 40: "Fimm hundrað dura ok of fjórum tögum, svá hygg ek á Valhöllu vera; átta hundruð Einherja ganga senn ór einum durum þá er þeir fara með vitni at vega." @@burningbridgesthesilvershi2490 from the original song, a lot of songs of wardruna are for example based or copied from older texts written in old Norse in 19th in Norway... And to think that druids and seers distrusted the writing, because each word has a meaning etc. The runes they used have a certain meaning also, a symbol etc... If I ever meet a skald or bard I'll invite him to dinner and have a lots of ale with him, so I would listen afterward to his singing

Also the last true believers of Odin etc... Lived in Greenland or Thule till 15th, the Danish King said during the reformation(climate was changing back then, not only people) "let's their own pagan gods care for them if they believe they are real." so the inuits and climate wiped them out. But nevertheless the tradition of the Norse gods was remembered in some parts of Norway and Sweden. Still the Sami have an oral tradition, but they don't believe in Odin etc...

@WotanTR I too defend Norse religion and generally follow a neo-pagan set of ideals, that nature is the most sacred thing in our existence etc I also detest Germanic culture/solstices like Yule under the reappropriation and celebration of Christianity (Christmas). I have a deep interest in Pagan culture and ideals and while I'm not of direct Scandinavian descent as far as I'm fully aware, I was born in the second largest area of Viking settlement in England after York, West Yorkshire which according to genetic studies about 80% of males here have DNA tracing back to Germanic and Norse bloodlines. While I'm not particularly spiritual or theistic I do feel a strong connection with the culture, beliefs and music of the old ones which I can't explain and wonder if is in my blood or something more mystical. However all that being said I also love the Vikings tv series because it's something that explores a topic I find deeply interesting and shows that there are people and producers out there willing to explore a culture and religion almost long forgotten by most in the world and wrongly so because these are the men and women of a culture that widely shaped the world we live in today. I don't intend this as argument at all, I'm totally in league with you but we don't know if the original commentor is also a strong believer or has interest in this wonderful culture.

@The Flying Dolphin They used the same alphabetic system (I know this doesn't show anything about the subject), moreover there are lots of evidence and sources showing these languages are related. My idea about this is both were came from the north (Turkic people originally came from Siberia) Basically one can claim that they are from same cultures.
