It's always interesting to take a look beyond our own noses and get an impression of the differences and similarities between historical European martial arts and traditions from other cultures in various parts of the world. Particularly when they don't usually get as much exposure as many Asian martial arts for instance.
Using a shield and parrying stick along with a club is an interesting combination that provides a remarkably solid defense. How do the fighters get past it and attack openings in the opponent's guard?
A machete is not only an excellent tool but also a very respectable weapon. In an unarmored duel or self-defense situation with no other defensive implements the main focus needs to be on keeping yourself safe. How do they do it?
