Skaneateles, Queen of the Finger Lakes!

Skaneateles is a perfect place for a Finger Lakes getaway vacation, as my wife and I learned in the summer of 2014.
Skaneatles is pronounced variously as "Skinny Atlas" or "Skanny Atlas". No matter what you call it, any place that has the most beautiful body of water in the world, William Seward, Harriet Tubman, feminist icons, septuagenarians true to their school, a beautiful place for you and your baby to get your swerve on, athletic horses, wonderful kind people, a visionary artist whose work keeps developing, abundant wildlife, and Doug's Fish Fry, is our kind of place.
As another Doug once put it, "We shall return!"

Thanks for visiting our fair town. Loved the video. Please know that the "No Sovereign Nation" folks are really in another part of the Finger Lakes, further west, not in the immediate proximity of Skaneateles. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!

One of my very favorite lakes. Very beautiful. William Seward of Seward's Folly said of the lake, "Gentlemen; Your own Skaneateles was the first lake I ever saw. I have since seen many others in North America, and some elsewhere. Nevertheless, I still think your little lake, with the smiling village of Skaneateles reflected in its blue waters, is about the finest one I ever saw.”

John you did a great job of summarizing the great town of Skaneateles. I am so thankful that you out this together, as it shows the great tiwn that I grew up in. I was a graduate of 1984. I would like to see a winter one, a farm, vineyards, art and music. It is one of the nicest places I've ever been. Thank you. And i have shared.

What a wonderful film. My wife and I are planning our first trip to the finger lakes region in about a month. Your film was such a joy. Thank you for sharing your story, and humor with us. just now watching this cool video, it's always wild to see others take vacations to our towns around here, especially auburn! the seward house is just something we drive by and took field trips to so i've never truly experienced the greatness and rich history of the house like someone who hasn't been before. i love your sense of humor as well lol

Doug's Fish Fry is good. Also the best Tartar sauce. It is the queen of the finger lakes! The joke I know is the overweight woman was cornered by bears, and her only escape was the water, so she swam, and when she reached skaneateles she said "skinny at last"
