I have the same Skar box style that came with the Sdr 18 dual 2 ohm... I have about 750rms going to it... 👍😎 Muy Bueno... pounds from 80-25hz just fine... unloads around 22ish hz. Best money 💰 I ever spent... got it for under 200

I know a really good box builder and was told the SDR's are much better in a small posted box we're the EVL's are best in a larger ported box. Im running two " Black Diamond DT 12-D4 in the pre-fab SDR ported box and they hit hard. I do have a small ported box tuned at 32hz i plan on using the SDR's for 😎👍🏾

if you tune them and have subsonic filters on your amp you can make the speaker work amazing for rock and metal

I just put a SDR-18 in place of a EVL-18 in my truck and im impressed with its performance so far especially for the price! Very loud and punchy! Im a little worried with how long it will last due to motor size and voice coil size but so far so good...Pushed it hard for about 45 min and the dust cap was super hot or anything...Might hold up for awhile... I have 2 JBL club A 1000.1 strapped on it....Way to much power so ive been taking it easy on it

@david029014 I love my EVL18S that I've had the past 3 years...I think the EVL is a good subwoofer that does not get the credit it deserves cause some people think they know more about designing a subwoofer than the manufacturer...People say weak motor force ect...All I know is they bang hard love the lows and sound clean!! PLUS TAKE RATED POWER!!I push my EVL18S about 3 hours straight each day and I'm sending them a good clean 1200 watts rms each, from 2 diamond audio DES1000.1 monoblocks each at 1 ohm with plenty of current to feed the amplifiers..I will always think in my opinion price per performance the evl can't be beat!! 280 for a 18 inch subwoofer is ridiculous!!! Plus one that performs!!I'm running a American bass HD18 in my truck and I think the EVL18 is almost as good definitely a good runner up and 600 to 280 is a huge price difference!! American bass is my favorite for subs but If I was on a budget looking I would definitely not hesitate to buy the evls again

@@johnoates3326thanks for sharing this information bro. I’ve also heard pros and cons on the evl 18s but I heard them flrst hand and my god!!!! Didn’t know that 18 can play so good. I’m a sound quality guy but I like good lows because I listen to spanish music. And the evl 18s definitely convinced me especially for my budget. Have a blessed one brother. 🔊 🔊😎😎

I have both the DATS as well as a calibrated microphone. How did you get the box tuning with the microphone? RTA app? Or some other way?

How do you compare the audiopipe sub to this and can you make a video comparing all the subs together?

Which Audiopipe model? If compared to the Audiopipe TXX the SKar SDR is warmer sounding but "Looser" and not as tight or accurate. Audiopipe TXX are super punchy and tight.

Savards are xlnt and yes worth the money but they all have different sound characteristics. Savards HiQ very deep smooth lots of excursion. Soundstream R3 tight punchy accurate with good warmth. Audio pipe Txx extremely punchy maybe a little harsh very loud not very warm. All great but depends what you like.

@@paquesepas6696 I have only tried the kicker comp C and Comp R. They are good subwoofers but to me they sound good but don't really stand out in any one area but they do all types of music ok.

I got an Atrend SQ12 Single Vented SPL enclosure 2.1 net cubic ft with a Skar SVR D4 single 12 in that enclosure with the Skar Rp800.1d MonoBlock Amp. In a 99 durango. Simple set up. But whats your opinion on that enclosure that sub is in. Supposedly tuned to 38hz.

Man I don’t know without having that box and calculating it. Some of those boxes by atrend are pretty close to what they say and some areway off on their cubic feet and port tuning. This is the case with all the prefab boxes kind of hit or miss. if you send me all the info measurements port width height length width thickness I can calculate it out for you.

I would say bigger is better, but go within the budget. Skar makes some of the best bang for the buck... I don't know about warranty? I run my stuff about 25% over rms... Great luck so far 👍

@@HiFiVector I’m kinda new to this I think I might’ve made a mistake I bought two of these speakers for a dual sub box. Idk if my amp can handle it. I have the ro1200.1d but I was looking and it say I can’t cross these to 1 ohm so I’d be stuck at 2 ohms which is under powering?

Yes they are sdr d2 2 ohm
