GIRL "Yuzu said he wants to land the quad axel at the NHK Trophy" - litterally two days later "Yuzu has to withdrawn from the NHK Trophy due to ankle injury". It makes me so sad and I really hope he is going to land his quad axel in competition later this year but also that he won't rush back onto the ice and will let his body properly recover so he can be at his best for the japanese nationals and the olympics.

I believe in Liza more and more with every competition. She is so solid and consistent. Jason was perfect in short. I saw a lot of people talking about how he should give up quad attempts but I don't agree. Obviously he can do well without one but It seems like it's personal goal? It's probably his last season he should go for everything. Aliona - I love her but for me with every competition it's more obvious that she's not going to Olympics. She's better with this new programs and I love that she was so happy - that's all I want for her, but I just don't see her on that team. Wakaba was my absolute favorite! That lion king free skate was so original and beautiful, she has probably best 3a out of ladies, it was amazing. Roman is my inconsistent, nerve-wracking favorite. He has amazing skating skills, good lines, musicality and he can absolutely splatter all over the ice. Roman, please just stay vertical for just one program and I'll be overjoyed!

I’m pretty sure someone already said it but Yuzuru Hanyu just withdrew from NHK because of a fall so we’re not getting that quaxel yet and ngl I had a lil crisis there when I read it

Information about Alyona's transition from Plushenko to Eteri and apologies is written in the notes in the biography on the official ISU website and it does not say that she is the European champion. The announcement on skate Canada was most likely taken from Alyona's biography. ISU's strange attitude towards Alyona.

I feel so bad for Aliona. She completely lost her confidence. Notice how she looks terrified before each performance, like she knows she's gonna fail.

I think they overscored Kami in some of her jumps but I do believe she would have still won. I am still surprised she lands her jumps with how off her axis looks and her landing looks unsteady sometimes....

Elizeveta is so much fun to watch like when she skates you can see all ten years of work. The maturity, the performance, the cheekiness in how she plays with the crowd is in my opinion leaps ahead of all the others. And shes consistant! Slow and steady wins the race and all that. This is definitely my bias speaking here but i feel like it would make sense for russia to send valieva, trusova and miss elizaveta, right? Two record breakers and one super consistant skater they can rely on? I feel like they could easily get a russian sweep if they do that but again, I know this is incredibly biased -I just need her to go to the olympics. And Kostornia my poor baby kostornia... is definitely being played in something and I dont like it. It really feels like shes being made an example of? Like that introduction is SHADY, the post she made is worded oddly, and knowing everything else... idk it feels a lot like shes still being set up for failure even with the new programmes -which she skated beautifully. Idk why but it doesnt feel like they actually want her to make it to the olympics, i dont know how to explain it :C

Oh Kostonira we love you. I feel like they need to just let her do her thing stop micro managing her she got that 3A she has personality and she’s beautiful. Jason brown deserves more medals despite not having a quad!

16:43 for the record Liza Tuktamysheva won skate Canada 2018 , so it´s not so far from now, and also got bronze at NHK that same year, and ended up 3rd at Grand prix final that same year. I don´t know why people tend to forget her achivements that season, that is why she was so upset when she didn´t get the spot to Saitama 2019.

Wakaba was CRIMINALLY underscored. If she had gotten the GOE she deserved (give that axel more GOE) and the PCS and if in turn the Russians weren't so blatently overscored and showered in PCS, she could have medaled here. Same goes for Miahara. I feel so bad for my girl Kosternaia. She must be under so much mental stress with the Russian media hammering her. That annoncement was pure sabotage, that would have shaken me to the core. I mean, she is raining GFP and European champion, why was that not mentioned?! Also her coaches decided to change her programms after Finnlandia, so it wasn't her decision. I'm not here for the Tuktameshava PCS-overscoring. Yes, she is likeable and has a good on-ice persona/presence but that does not make good skating skills. She is much slower on the ice compared to the rest, her spins aren't that great, she has almost no choreo exept for hand-movements (not her fault but still). And she gets more PCS than Karen Chen in the short (who is one of the most gorgeous skaters) or Wakaba or Miahara? Like what?

My personal winner is Trusova, I understand and agree with some of the criticism she faces, but to me she is so badass and empowering - just doing her own thing which is less feminine and artistic and more powerful and athletic, and I feel like the judges dislike her for that. I really hope that she recovers and gets gold, she has been in the second spot for tooooo long

I adore the empress , I will be heart broken if she doesn’t get to the olympics . I love watching a grown woman ice skating at the top level , she connects to the music that a teenager can’t , due to life experience . I am mesmerised when watching her as she delivers the way only a grown woman can , she is truly divine 👍❤️

I think Mai Mihara was underscored. She should have been third overall. Wakaba Higuchi was also underscore in PCS. I hate the fact that JapFed does not help its own skaters at all!

Diana and Gleb are not Tutberidze skaters. They represent Russia but train in Michigan. Their coach is Igor Shpilband. Furthermore, they placed 5th in Skate Canada so I doubt they'll be going to the 2022 Olympics.

i think one of the reasons that aliona doesn't score as high anymore is because she's clearly not into any of her programs. they're better now since the ones we saw at test skates and finlandia but she is not feeling them and she is not selling them and the judges can see this. liza, on the other hand, can sell the sh*t out of her programs and knows how to get the audience going, so that's a huge effect on the judging panel. if aliona was still performing like she was in 2019 then we can have a different conversation about her placing below liza but since she is not, her being in third place is rightfully (or as rightfully as it can be with the russians because they're all overscored lmao) deserved.

Glad to see Nathan back on top and Jason is such an artistic skater. Very saddened for Kostornaya. So many are already discounting her chances to compete at the Olympics. Valieva appears to the front runner but I'm not dismissing Anna Scherbakova. As she has demonstrated to be the most viable competitor to challenge Valieva.

Mai Mihara won my heart. Her renaissance is just heartwarming. Medal or not, she stood out for me. And I know people there those who might hate me for this but I never understood the hype for Aliona or this Kosto depression you keep saying. Yuna Kim and her generation just ruined my standards for ladies/women’s figure skating. These tutberidze girls can have their quad fest but they are nowhere near the artistry of the greats of the previous generations. Nor even Aliona is close even though she’s dubbed to be the most artistic of the lot. Case in point: Liza. Her artistry and expressiveness is just a cut above the rest. It’s almost insulting that Liza’s PCS is comparatively the same as these tutberidze girls.

You should have waited a day!!!! Whew! Today made the Russian Olympic team even more of an unknown to me! I know many want to say it’s Valieva followed by Trusova and that Liza is fighting with Anna. However, Valieva is all that seems fairly safe in my mind! I almost feel like Liza is safer than the others. I’ll have more faith in Sasha once she actually lands 5 quads in competition.

Which is probably actually worse for the athlete since that means they take it around the clock as long as there is no competition, but technically works for those planning it since if you take them off of it long enough before a competition, then they can get the doping effect they wanted but not get caught by tests. That is, assuming that you correctly estimate how long it takes for it to get out of the system, which they might have messed up here. As a result, I'm quite worried that it happens to a number of athletes, just that they don't have this anomaly where it takes longer to get out of the system than normal.

He is Semenenko, not SemeCHenko And I love his free program, it's one of the few that I want to rewatch over and over again

I must add Mischa trains his skaters for longevity , they only burn out young with him if they get badly injured or a born with a weak hip of some other part of their body . Plushenko has said he will only train the way Mischa trains his skaters , I remember a interview with trusovsa when she was training with Plushenko and they asked her ‘ why are you only doing one quad in your program and something about how there were less jumps then when she was with Eteri’ and she replied in the way a teenagers does and said ‘ it was all the jumps I was allowed to do , Plushenko said that is all I’m allowed to do ‘ You could tell she was miffed by it but he believes top competitive skaters should be enjoying their career until at least 30 years and beyond . He is patient and would rather they take care of their health by not breaking there body in their teenage years , he said the transition to staying at the top when their body becomes that if a woman can be done mostly with patience and the right training , he also said some just can’t make that transition sadly but many can and their body needs to be cared for . I think he gets a bad rap a lot of the time but I’m 58 years old snd saw him when he first took to the ice and have followed his career , he is a focused determined man , but Eteri is a focused determined woman who fought also to be where she is . I respect them both enormously , I think the problem when they have gone to plushenko, he is doesn’t raise his voice, his style is more gentle and he won’t let them do a load of quads and things that are very dangerous on a young teenagers thin body , he meets them half way but then he puts his foot down . After being trained by Eteri who is very strict and can use strong narrative and let’s them do all those jumps to a point , she did say in an interview that they want to keep jumping at practice until they make the perfect jump that practice and she has to say no , as they have jumped the amount she is comfortable with that practice otherwise injuries would happen , to go from Eteri to plushy who even provides each skater with their own cottage free of charge , could result in the skaters feeling held back, less driven . As Eteri enviorment is now it never as the younger ones coming up will take your place . Where as plushenkos is when your body is ready , you have years left to compete if done right . Two very different styles and after spending years with Eteri it feels like home . People forget they are teenagers and being a teenager is s confusing time and that is without being the best Ice skaters in the world . Of voids they will want to try something new and then turn around and go back to the place that has been home to them for many years despite the problem . I hoped the adults would understand that and plushenko was gracious and supportive when they did and I thought Eteri was also , but what she has been pushing on Kosternia which id humiliation really made me feel so sorry for kostania . She is a teenage girl who most probably handled it all badly but she is a teenager , a child not even 18 years old , some understanding of that would be wonderful and would warm my heart ❤️

Paola, no he terminado de ver el vídeo, voy por el análisis de Kostornaia, y es que ESTOY COMPLETAMENTE DE ACUERDO CONTIGO!! Lo de que en la gala de exhibición se la vió muchísimo más la Kostornaia a la que nos tenía acostumbrados y que ese programa sería muchísimo mejor que los que ha estado presentando!! El de You Should See Me In A Crown, aunque le va mejor con su personalidad y lo hace bastante guay, no creo que lo planteasen porque supongo que lo construyeron en Plushenko y estaría feo, además de que no estuvo del todo bien acogido en los Test Skates (la comentarista ex-patinadora, no recuerdo el nombre, que es allí como una mandamás, cuando terminó ese programa estuvo negando con la cabeza, como diciendo... no me gusta nada este programa tan moderno, no es bonito). A mí tampoco me entusiasman los programas nuevos, pero desde luego me gustan mucho más que los que tenía antes. Soy acérrima de Vivaldi, pero está demasiado visto en patinaje, no lo lucía, no transmitía... es que no sé, no me dejaba sin habla, como sí lo hacían sus programas del 2019. Además, en la gala de exhibición, por fin entendí la coreo de Crepúsculo!! No me había fijado en que se coge del cuello como que la han mordido, porque ahora se agarró del cuello muchísimo más, y lo interpretó muchísimo mejor, con un cambio de actitud total cuando se "transforma" en vampiro. En interpretación, sin duda lo han mejorado. Ojalá retomen ese programa, me parece que es la única oportunidad que tendría de plantear que fuese a las Olimpiadas, sinceramente. A menos que empiece a haber lesiones y caigan como moscas...

Hanu has dropped out of NHK. He's injured. Ligaments in his foot/ankle. He hurt his right ankle before the 2018 Olympics practicing for NHK back then too. Doubtful he'll be 10% for Rostelecom. He should stop trying the 4A before he's seriously injured. Alysa Liu's 3A was under rotated in the short. Haven't seen it clean yet. The South Korean's name you couldn't think of is Young You. My guess is that Eteri or the Russian Federation wrote Kostornaia's intro. She's going to continue to make Alena pay/grovel/embarrass her for going to Evgeni. Notice that Alena also has the most bland, poorly choreographed programs of Eteri's skaters. The gloves she wore in her program look like she borrowed them from someone. They were not the sam gloves she wore during the medal ceremony. The medal ceremony gloves looked like they fit her costume.

you forgot Mana Kawabe 🙌 Liza's and Wakaba's were my favorite 3A's though. Best program for me were Liza's FS, Mai Mihara's SP, Wakaba's FS 👌🏻 Mai was emotional because she struggled with an eating disorder. So glad to see her back, love her skating and her disposition ❤️

You love to judge Tutberidze, but Kostornaya landed a triple axel after losing it in Plushenko’s angels only because of Tutberidze. She should be grateful for that

They're giving Liza the scores Aliona got in 2019-2020, which is beyond absurd because the only thing they have in common is the stable triple axel. Liza doesn't have Aliona's personality, skating skills, interpretation, etc. that made her stand out in that season. But I guess the Russian fed needs a stable non quad skater to rely on and she's the only one.

How did JASON get second place with a 77 technical. He wouldn't get second place in many women's competition.
