So my grandfather was friends with Ron Chapman Sr and taught him the Real Estate game in L.A. waaaay back in the 70's.. We visited one time when I was around 10y.o. and Ron Jr. was sponsored by Milk at the time, and he hooked me up with a one of his brand new personal boards and a hoodie.. I rode that board until there was practically nothing left of it.. I always loved that shape, and growing up I always got asked about that board whenever I could get rides to Burnside (way before the 'Free Willy' movie or TH/Pro Skater 2).. It was definitely a cool 'place & time' to be a kid.. I'm currently fixing up another pretty rare board (Alva- Short Stuff 36) but now I'm also looking for that same Ron Jr. OG-shape/"Trike" model to hopefully build up a new one.. The one that Ron Jr. gave me was Turquoise/Purple & Yellow, with a Turquoise rear truck.. That was my favorite board growing up!. So it was always fun to see Ron Jr. get those highlights in Transworld & Thrasher mag's etc..

The writing on the top appears to be a double-word of KEEF / BEEP! At first I thought maybe it said BEER underneath but I don't see the other leg of the R. Love these vids, thanks for posting!

That's a Rad shape and like you said 'the best shape'. By '93 I remember deck shapes becoming popsicle shaped and so thin that it felt like you were skating on tip toes.

By 93 they were freestyle size. Stayed that way for a few years.

That's a State of New Jersey Weights and Measures inspection sticker. He probably stole it from a gas pump or a grocery store deli/produce scale.

60/40 had ron on the team and I think they were 1993. Gonz shifted in and out of companies so quick.

I wonder what Ron's wheel base is on that board?

@@destroyedwood Thanks! Damn, I didn't realize that they were already clued in to shorter wheelbases equals more responsiveness for technical street skating that early in the development of street skating.
