My first time boarding my friends were fucking with me and said we here going on the “ bunny slope” but took me all the way up the lyft in and we hit the black diamond i definitely ate shit a few times but it was honestly the best way to learn because by the end of the trip I was shredding...I do skate a lot a and but snowboarding is wayyyy different you really gotta think about it keep yourself in a athletic stance after that first time I bought my own board was hooked

But going slow in any board spot is wack fucking send it

@@jamie6358 It’s a different feel but since you skate you’ll have an advantage. It’ll take a bit to get the feel for it but don’t worry about it. And where ever you turn your head is where you’ll go

#travelingwhilebroke Yes, I was trying my best to stay out of others way. They even gave me one ski that someone had dropped to give to them. I was going up the lift like “yeah I’m totally going to fall.” And that’s exactly what I did 😄 I think I discovered the type of area I would like to live in.

Martin Cooper Skates yeah man try it the way I just told you next time. It will hold your feet in the bindings way better and help with carving

Different bindings are different, out west all the bindings are meant for toes but east side rental bindings go like that

@@donthatetheflayerhatethega4170 due to covid they had to limit the amount of people on the mountain and they were completely booked for the 3 days we were there

its really easy aslong as you realise to use the rails of the board instead of just rolling like a skateboard. For me the hardest part is not pushing so hard for anything frontside since im so used to how hard you have to push to powerslide on a board. But just a couple of runs and you got it. After you learn that you can pretty much do a bunch of tricks and rails just cause you already got the balance

Same with me and I’m trying snowboarding for the first time tomorrow, I’ll lyk

i honestly think the only way it is similar is if you can powerslide, that same way you push on your heels or toes, but nothing else is the same imo

@@stephanierogers335 once you get the basics it does. You can naturally ollie and nollie, hit lips, and ride switch way easier than a newbie who never skated.

There are transferable skills from one board sport to another. Of course it is still different, but the similarities in skateboarding will help learn snowboarding. In order to become good in snowboarding, you just have to put in the time doing it. Compare to a person who has never skated, surfed or any board sports learning snowboarding, then their learning curve is that much steeper. Two examples: 1) A person who speaks Spanish learning French, will surpass monolingual English speakers learning French. There are transferable knowledge, albeit not directly obvious at first. Yet, to become great at French, you have to use it. 2) An amateur wrestler learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, would progress quickly compared to a person who has never grappled before attempting BJJ.

Easier tbh when just riding straight. Turning on your heel edge is pretty similar but going on toe edge is way more difficult

What Hayden said is true. When I was riding straight it was definitely easier than I suspected. I would give skateboarding credit to that, but turning on the toe edge felt impossible to do.

@@MartinCooperFilms I just posted a few minutes ago. That front binding was at a ridiculous angle. No wonder you had a hard time getting toeside. Also, I'm super impressed with how well you did.
