This week we head over to the famous Wilshire 15 stair, we also take a look at the 10 stair. We talk about the vast history of what has gone down on the set and rails. We explore the block, have to talk our way out of trouble with security, and let everyone know the current state of the skate spot!

@@ScootsMcPoot either u didn’t watch the video of u have the short term memory of a goldfish. The security guard came back out to tell them how much he liked their other videos. Considering the video they were filming at Wilshire is part of the same series as all of the other famous spot videos it would only make sense the guy would be interested in this video once it’s finished. I think it’s safe to say he’ll like this one a whole lot more considering he actually gets to see the spot in person so he gets a true idea of how crazy all the tricks are that have been done there

They use discord and other forums to gather a trick list, than they find the clips, that Then they go to the spot. They don't just wing it

They also research the spot first which is why it's called Spot History. He told the security it was a documentary they were shooting.

Skateboard historian here. Tony Hawk had the first documented ollie in the 10 stair in Powell Peralta's 1989 skateboarding film " Ban This" while another skater boardslid it. It's around the 1:07:25 mark.

Pat Melcher , I used to see him skate at The Pit skatepark in (rockford, Illinois) back in late 90’s before he was pro. That guy was one of the best I’ve ever seen out of any pros in real life. Dude could skate anything. Transition to any street spot. Dude rips.

Security guards like that are always the best. A lotta security guards in London, UK are like this. You speak to them like a human-being and talk to them with respect and understanding; they will usually let you get a 2/3 more runs in before they HAVE to do their job. If its really quiet; they don't really bother you, unless youre causing a scene or the place starts getting busy.

We actually did a video at Kona a little over a year ago! But we didn’t talk about the history too much, it would be a really good idea to do another Kona video and talk about all that! That was the spot in the early best 90s of skating. 3600 Wilshire Blvd spot, front side by sidewalk has nice spots, ledges, rails, etc.

This is the single best skateboarding series on KZfaq! Excellent documentation of skate history, wouldn’t be surprised if you guys are the authors for the first definitive book on skate history haha. And I also appreciate you guys covering other action sports tricks that have gone down (BMX, rollerblades, scooters, etc.). It’s all gnarly and gets me stoked the same way as skating (I skate, snowboard, and wakeboard mainly but it’s a joy to watch people pushing the limits of all action sports).
