It’s 2 am and I’m scatterbrained but I just wanted to thank you (Kelli and Peyton) for possibly saving my life. I was having the worst paranoid episode I’ve ever had. Like worse than I knew I was capable of. I played this song cause I thought if I’m gonna freak out I may as well have a cool playlist. But now I’m calm enough that I actually might get some sleep tonight. Seriously, I owe you two my soul

I was just making dinner and charging my phone. For some reason the Google search mic activated and when I sat down to eat and looked at my phone the search results from the search was this song. So I'm eating dinner and listening to it now. And all I can say is I absolutely love this song. And for once I am happy Google glitched out or spied on me or what ever. Thank you for your music and sharing with the world. I hope you are well and healthy. Cheers

I feel they're best kept a secret tbh if we're to blow up they'll then have to meet industry standards by doing pop songs in turn ruining what made them special to begin with plus them as independent is alot better then some label tryna milk them cause they're young an pretty faces to appeal to the wide audience

It's fascinating that in the 21st century we have these enlightened parents who obviously allow their children to follow their muse. I may be wrong, but I suspect these young ladies have such parents. Back in my day, I listened to artists who likely fought their parents and created rage-filled music as a result. It's better today. It's different, but brilliance shines through, talent shines through from every corner of the country.

I watched a movie called Falling and this song came on the end credits. I was and am mesmerized by this song. Her voice is beautiful and unique as is this song. I'm 54 and not into today's music at all and I can't believe this tune is 8 years old. This should've been a number one tune on the airwaves but sadly top 40 music is dead.

Top 40 has been shit forever. Radio is too scared to play good music. You would be blown away with some of the super popular songs lately with the internet, they are so good. I honeslty don’t know if they were able to make it to top 40 or not. Its not worth checking just for the validation. Mitski is a great one.

This song has like 5 choruses and does not stick to the standard song writing. Yet it is a masterpiece in it's own right. I don't care if these two brilliant songwriters get recognized on the "mainstream", because the mainstream does not deserve such talent because they would milk them for all their worth until they break. I will continue following these fellow songwriters no matter how far underground they go.

I love bands that aren't afraid to deviate from verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, verse chorus. Before discovering Skating Polly my favorite band was The Airborne Toxic Event. Their music was the soundtrack to my life for 4 years. They have a lot of videos too. Their first (and most successful?) single was "Sometime Around Midnight" That song is just a story about a guy seeing his ex-girlfriend walk into the bar. There really aren't any verses and no chorus or bridge, its just 7 paragraphs set to music. The song begins with him spotting her, her walking over to talk to him, then her walking out with a guy, then him spilling out into the street drunk and emotionally broken. One of the cool things about the song is that musically it grows in intensity building to a crescendo as it goes along so you get to feel anguish of his depression changing to desperate desperation, willing to do anything just to talk to her again. Another favorite of mine is "A Letter To Georgia" Its 2 related but completely different poems about a girl he used to date The song "Duet" is a story about 2 exes meeting for drinks after quite some time to check in and just see how each other is doing with their life. No verses, no choruses, no bridges, just paragraphs, but ya... i love it when song writers reinvent creatively

@@jamyc.5800 Reading this, I think you might like Major Parkinson. Even though they do use the traditional chorus verse thing regularly, they also do deviate from it quite often. They used to mix progressive rock with the more cabaresque side of music with a little touch of folk sometimes, but now they went more to electronics. For me they have been part of the soundtrack of my life. :) Early Major Parkinson: Solitary Home En more recent: Night Hitcher
