It's lovely how the audience doesn't feel obligated to constantly applaud or laugh. Such a refreshing change. In America, everything has to be applause-worthy or funny. It degrades dialogue.

@werner.x

@@angelwings7930 That was one sentence, not more. And i did appreciate that question, because i am interested. I grew up with her singing, my first ever bought record was the first of her albums. I fear the day to hear of her death - or the one of Bob Dylan - they all die away these recent decades. Back then in Germany amidst all these Hippies hearing Joan Baez featuring Bob Dylans lyric you didn't have any possibility to get infos. Just these few songs in the radio, and the records, which were expensive back then, then these street musicians singing to their guitars - but you really knew NOTHING - exept what some youth journal like Bravo would write occasionally or from some rare broadcastings, but the moderators were clueless themselves. When the hype with Hippies were over, you even didn't hear anything at all except the new album release - for so many years just a great void. But you want to know, what's up with your favorite musicians. So, really, i'm glad for these opportunities to get informed, the internet and especially youtube has gifted us the last couple of decades, especially when it's not with an crappy american interviewer in this typical kooky attitude. And yes, i want to know some personal things too of such an important lifelong companion who soon will be gone forever. Sorry, cant' agree with you.

What an amazing show! I want to move to Scandinavia! Not one guest interrupted her, the panel actually listened, and she was free to answer excellent questions in an aura of patience. I live in Canada, we are supposed to be polite, but I am interrupted continuously. Joan probably had her best interview experience ever! Dylan ultimately came up but the kind interviewer did not harp on it. Simply amazing clip! Also, the host was kind, had a smile always, and just let her speak. the world should take note.

She was quite prophetic in this clip, without realizing. Greta Thunberg has said in interviews that it was the Parkland Highshool kids who inspired her and impulsed her to speak out about climate change. I think that's real cool. This clip was made over a year and a half ago. Recently Greta arrived in the US on the exact day that impeachment hearings for Trump began in congress. Now I call that auspicious.

If people are unable to see the beauty, the intelligence and the grace of this icon who is our Joan Baez, then they are blind and deaf. Wait until you are in your 70s, and are able to look back at the history of the USA or even some other country's history, then, maybe then, you might just appreciate what a female can do in this little world of ours. Good interview and I always enjoy the respect given to those being interviewed. I'm old enough to remember much and to respect a fearless voice in a time of turmoil.

I'm assuming you are male. What I respect is a woman's right to choose what she does to or for herself. What is sad is when someone thinks they have to be a certain way just to be accepted because there are too many people like you with opinions on what they should or shouldn't do or how they should look or shouldn't look. Look in the mirror and only be concerned with the person looking back.

@Brinta3
@Brinta3 3 жыл бұрын
@@kailani37 You’re right; women have the right to do what they want. But look at this from a different angle for a moment. Those Hollywood women may feel pressured into doing cosmetic surgery, to have/keep a career and/or because otherwise people will say horrible things about their wrinkles. So the ‘right to choose’ then kind of goes away (in the sense that it becomes meaningless, not really true) when you’re in the public eye. We’ve developed a culture in which actresses cannot let themselves age naturally. In that context it is fine to celebrate women aging gracefully instead of assuming the plastic image that “Hollywood shoves down our throats”. And of course ‘Hollywood’ also includes us, the consumer. We want to see pretty people on screen. But sometimes it goes a bit too far and then we ridicule the outcome.

I seen her in concert in the 60's at Bristol Colston Hall, and for about 2 hours it was just her on stage with a guitar, a microphone, a stool, and a glass of water. And she was just brilliant, and she looked gorgeous in a lilac dress with her long black hair.

Long time fan of Joans. I think I was only like 11 yrs old when I discovered her. Im now going on 60 yrs old lol. Many long years and she still is as real as always and has never sold out to the industry or Hollywood. A rare diamond! I saw Bob in Cork City Ireland in 2014 and he surprised me by giving a perfect appearance! I had heard rumors he wasnt so great anymore, but he was great! Now he will be performing in the very near future very close to where I live. He will be performing Muncie Indiana this Fall. I will have to miss it im having another hip replacement surgery around the time of his concert. Lol but thats ok because it was far cooler getting to see him in Cork, Ireland anyway 😅

When I met her I was 16 and she was 36 years old. It was at a concert in Alicante, Spain. I had just bought an album from her, Farewell, Angelina. Since then I am in love with her. Every time I watch a video of her or listen to her voice I get excited. I will never forgive you for living so far away from me, I will never forgive you for being 20 years older than me, I will never forgive you for not crossing my street, I will never forgive you for not being able to smell your hair ... never, but I can not stop loving you . Your eyes, your lips, your smile ... your way of understanding life, your songs, your lyrics ... your life. How I would have liked to be part of your life. You are beautiful on the outside and inside. I love you. I love you so much.

Dylan praised her guitar work in his book. He tried her finger picking style but couldn't do it and went back to his normal thumb pick. Joan said she knew that the relationship was over during the 1965 British tour which is chronicled in the documentary "Don't Look Back". Dylan rarely invited her on stage during that tour and she felt like an appendage.

Gixellia S. - "Don't Look Back" has a lot of backstage footage. Recommend seeing it and you'll get some idea of his personality. He was dealing with the big controversy over his switch to an electric band and Rock and Roll, so he is irritated and confused by fans and the press questioning him about it.

I'ts not, it IS gun related. Just look at the numbers. In the US there are 20 x more gun related deaths than in the Netherlands for example (where fire arms are prohibited), and 10 x more homicides. Do the math and stop calling people who do their homework idiots, makes you seem petty, insecure and mean. Here are the nr's for you : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rate , and another : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_firearm-related_death_rate
