In this long live session I'll be sketching and chatting to all you lovely people!
In 90 minutes I'll create 4 sketches from the four photos on my community page, or you can find them here too - pCtr0wyarJ...
As ever, the idea behind these sketching sessions is to have fun, relax and do some simple loose sketches. We'll be focussing on urban sketching and landscapes today, looking at watercolour textures and loose ink lines.
In store is some soluble ink, granulating colours, continuous lines and abstract art!

Hi Toby - I have been binge watching your youtube channel all of last weekend! I LOVE your continuous line with your free flowing watercolour style. I have learned so much by watching you sketch and more often, sketching with you and am surprised at the outcome. Love the moon blue. Not a fan of Cobalt out of the tube. Love the tip for mixing quin sienna and indigo for sepia. Do prefer paynes grey. Great video.

You ask for ideas at 18:45 about your new colours. Here's mine: I do swatches, mixing charts, glazing charts, tonal value charts. Creating charts is a "low commitment" process which helps me understand how colous interact with each other, with the paper, which th values (tonal values) I can do the charts while listening to music or radio. By the to me I am done, I feel I know the new colours much better and feel more confident about them. I feel then thatI will have no nasty surprises when I use them in a sketch or a painting. Painting the charts is also very relaxing for me, so I fibd the process enjoyable. By the way, 🌬️ thanks for muting the hair dryer!😂 It is otherwise such a shock when the noise comes up witout warning - this happens with other artists. I appreciate your sensitivity and consideration.
