I spent much of the summer forging Felix Scheinberger's sketches on my iPad as I waited for the release of his newest book, Dare to Sketch, which finally(!) came out a few weeks ago.
(Warning: one of the book shown contains a bit of nudity and bondage)

after seeing this video I immediatly wanted to have that book, Dare to Sketch! I ordered it and now I have it here! And I ordered Danny's book The Creative License as well. Both books are great, very inspiring (I even started sketching in the books ... )

This is just what I needed. I love keeping a sketchbook, especially when my work evolves into something organic and unknown. Then I am pleasantly surprised by what shows up. Thank you for introducing Felix, his loose sketching style is also a method I am keen to try especially using the genre of abstract realism!

I know that this is from 4 years ago but, I have only just discovered this artist and bought this book. I love it. I have been struggling to get back into the studio with all that has taken place over the last two years and this has brought me out of that funk.

Great overview! I can't wait to get a copy - I may have to pick up the German version when I am in Germany in November! And it was so great to see sweet little Tim. Felix seemed to really get a kick out of your happy dogs, Danny. Hugs!

I think those are alcoholic drinks Danny. Moscow Mule with a twist? Cucumber slices for sure.... I really love Felix's work, there is a freedom and abandon in the way he draws and drops in colour. And I love real life too. The clubs in Berlin and other places make for good figurative drawing, like Dr Sketchy started by Molly Crabapple and a friend. Btw I am a huge fan of Molly Crabapple too.

What I find genius about Felix's art is his ability to use a minimum of color (and even a minimum of brush strokes) to capture emotion. No matter how much I try I end up using WAY TOO MUCH watercolor when I try to produce a Felix-like piece of art.

who is Tim Gregory ? .......AMAZING VIDEO!!! I love Felix's style ...i was going to say "more" then yours, but the next second i'm like ...: "you know what ? i can't tell. i can not decide:0) i admire you both, equaly. Thanks for sharing, Danny!
