I love how Ian manages to identify - generate and exaggerate the essential character of a subjects essence. Humour and mood constantly appear throughout Ian's wonderfully comic characterisations along with a joyous whimsical style !

I hear you about the cold, Mr. Ian. I'm in Montana and it gets around 0F or below (-17C) routinely in winter. I usually have to sketch in my car or my water freezes.

Ian, your style and urban sketchbook from Amsterdam is my very cup of tea. I love Amsterdam and it's atmosphere! And you caught that spirit. It is similar to my own feelings about that beautiful town. Thank you very much for your videos! They inspire me. I thought urban sketching is supposed to be all hoch-poch and was happy that I am almost there. I should stop watching this video before my motivation and confidence goes to gutter!

Oh no! Fennelly is very good and has years of experience and practice. So don't compair yourself to him and don't be so hard on yourself.
