In this video I go over my design and production process for making my very own stickers from home! I cover my design tips, my supplies, and my marketing strategies to launch your designs and build an income stream for your art career. SOME VIDEO EDITS! You do not need to change to CMYK if you are printing at home! You typically convert to CMYK for more industrial printers if you were sending them to a company to manufacture them for you. I find with my home printer, printing in RGB is wayyyy clearer and yields a better result. For those of you wanting to use PayPal for Transactions, Kofi recommends in their FAQ to consider getting a business PayPal account if you want more control over the name! it’s always good to separate business and personal finances for tax reasons as well💖 hope this helps! (I mainly use stripe but I know a lot more people like to use PayPal instead!) thank you guys for watching and for the feedback!

I love your sticker process because it’s so accessible as anyone with access to a printer where they can put in printer paper can do it, as opposed to a lot of sticker processes where people have die cutters and a million other pieces of technology beyond printer, and paper, I also didn’t know you could get lamination paper with glitter! I’m always under the impression cool effects for prints require some factory level materials to make, instead of just different papers.

when I was starting to make stickers, I didn't realize how simple it was!! I feel like it such a great way to start selling your art and making your own products. and they're more affordable to customers than prints so it's more accessible on the buyer side too!

I started out cutting my stickers by hand and then eventually made the plunge for die cut machine, but I don't think it's necessary until the supply/demand becomes too much to handle doing it by hand! I also have (unrelated) nerve damage in my wrist so it just streamlines a lot for me, but it's definitely doable just by hand cutting!

Also even without a printer or one with bad printing quality, there's often printer shops (at least in my country) and the printing price would not be that high if you provide your materials for the paper. So no need to invest at the start other than your time and minimum materials (the sticker paper, the shiping enveloppes, sharp scissors)

@@tangerineslice true but not all public printers allow you to change the paper for fear of people breaking them, but for sure if you know printer places that do allow that an even cheaper alternative

I've been selling pins and stickers for two months now. My real dream is to sell patches tho. I even taught myself how to use the patch program already. Actually, if this month is the same in sales, i should be able to buy a patch machine next month. 😊

Amazing video! Love these tips! The vinyl paper idea is genius btw…i was thinking laminator would be good but your idea seems less expensive! I was interested in making my own stickers using hole punching for example to make circle stickers instead of cutting them. Those simple changes plus what you mentioned, makes it seem very possible. Congrats on your success! So excited to try making stickers.

love the detailed explanation on your art process! I'm not an art student but rather, worked in a professional field. but something about homemade stickers appeals a lot to me 😍 i usually buy from my local small sticker shops and i wanted to delve deeper into this sticker making universe, as a small hobby. tbh, i felt overwhelmed & intimidated watching other creators/artists introducing all the fancy smanchy tools they used. Yay for Steve the unpaid intern! 😂 I make stickers mostly for myself and friends/family though sold a few at a market. I started out buying a cricut explore and making my own cards with card stock before I invested in a printer that could print on vinyl/ thicker paper. I recently upgrade to the sister Juliet as I could never get the cricut to cut stickers accurately. The sister Juliet is amazing for sticker cutting. Loved watching you create stickers in this video, your art is beautiful ❤

Quick question: Why did you decide to print the stickers yourself instead of using a third party printing company?

It’s more cost effective to print my own small batches of designs! I only sell about 50-60 of each design so since it’s such small quantities, it would cost less to make on my own then pay a manufacturer (therefore better prices for my customers) And I get more control over the production and don’t have to wait on shipments of products 💖

Man, I've watched this video a couple of times now; how have I never left a comment?! I just wanted to stop in and say thank you so much for putting this video together! I've been trying to find ways to profit off of my own artwork, and many of my fellow artistic friends mentioned stickers and prints would be a good idea. I don't feel like I'm at a good level with my art to start selling it just yet, but I'm (slowly) working towards getting better; and this video has been a good motivator to do just that. ^ ^

This was such a great video, I am so lucky I stumbled upon it right now! I am honestly really inspired to go and try it out for myself, even though it might be a bit more difficult for me (I am a traditional artist with no reliable access to a scanner and the only way I could draw anything digitally is on my phone, which I am certain will not work well for the quality). honestly if you have trouble figuring out the spacing for borders, add one to the artwork itself on another layer, and make your backdrop black so you're not fiddling AS much with them

I’ve found that using an xacto or craft knife is good to use for cutting vinyl matte stickers like hers. It’s a bit more expensive to get a good one, but it’s worth it I’d say bcuz u can use it for other crafts…

I’ve used an x-acto knife but I find it is much slower and not as efficient to use as scissors for me! You do what works best for you tho!!💖

Making stickers is so expensive :c I made and sold some, but I'm lucky whenever I can break even on a batch (also unrelated but hard to take photos in natural light when half a year is a dark dark gloomy winter lmao)

i just came across your video. i’m looking to start making and selling stickers of my own. i have nothing but a normal, basic printer and no idea where to start when it comes to printing. i can’t wait to start!

you got this!! you can still create great designs with a normal printer, just make sure you have the right settings set up when you go to print, you got this!!
