Thanks for your helpful content as always! Two things: 1) if you use something like NordVPN the Sync/Autosync doesn't work. You won't be able to find your connection to SketchUp through Datasmith. Disabling NordVPN allows the connection to appear and be utilized. I don't know if this problem occurs with other VPN providers but it happens with NordVPN. 2) UV mapping, in my experience, has been the single most annoying thing about this process. It seems it's never consistent. You may have two identical objects in SketchUp with the exact same texture applied but inside of UE5 they may or may not be the same or wildly different scales. It is an unholy pain in the ass. If someone (hint hint) could put a video together about best practices to prep a SketchUp model prior to UE5 importing or some consistent way to tackle this UV mapping problem, that would be fannnnnnntastic.

Hello! I have a question, when importing groups and essentially components from Sketchup into Unreal, does that also reduces the UE project's weight/size like it does in Sketchup?

Hello! I have a question about the reverse. What is the best plugin (Fluidimporter)? Or is there a way to prepare a model in Unreal that would convert the quads in Unreal to Sketchup? Thank you!!

i think i saw something before in different video, about vray cosmos (sketch up) model got directly transferred into unreal engine with ready material. or is it not? and does that concept apply to material too?, like if you have made things in the past that already have material ready (in sketch up) u might dont need to redo it in unreal

It would be great if you could share some tricks to tackle the problem of importing Sketchup files in UE. I wondering why surfaces always disappear whenever I import sketchup file into UE. Thanks for your great video!

it could be beacuse the face is inverted, the white is the front face and the bluish color is the back, normally the back and (blue-ish) will be invisible. (you can right click and reverse face)

Love your videos. The question I have is Twin Motion VS Unreal Engine 5 If I don't know either one which one should I learn? I use SketchUp to design movie sets and I want to be able to show the director and Producer renderings of the sets but I also don't generally have a ton of time to make that happen. Thoughts?

Twinmotion without a doubt - while the Unreal Engine Datasmith workflow is extremely powerful, Twinmotion is designed specifically for rendering and is much more accessible and in probably 95% of cases, the right choice
