Excellent, very informative!! Please keep making these videos! I made an aluminum T-track system on my 154 expedition. Three sets of LinQ receiver mounts that can slide on the rail system according to the load of that day with that days specific gear. So far so good. I have a RockBros 30qt cooler close to the seat and another Apache 3800 tough box behind it for more storage near the tail light. 👍🏼

More videos to come for sure! But with no snow and my sled tucked away for summer, I've been doing projects on my S2000, which are: A) Probably not interesting to snowmobilers; B) already well documented on KZfaq. But, I'm trying to find a snowmobile dyno so we can find out exactly how much power this little 600 EFI actually makes. No promises, but will do a vid if possible. I love your T-Slot idea. That would make the whole system much more flexible.

I have a question for your: in some videos, I've experimented with playing some rock music at a low volume. Is it preferable to have some background music, or is just a straight voice-over better?

Great video. I just bought a 2020 Enduro and I am strongly considering the 62L box. Once mounted, o you think you can add any LINQ accessory behind it without customization?
@mop1471
@mop1471 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Not all LinQ accessories will fit on the 62L trunk lid. Your 2020 Renegade Enduro should have 2 LinQ cleat mounting points on the tunnel. The 62L box will use both of those mounts. The 62L box offers one additional LinQ mount on its lid, but note the weight limit on the warning label: accessories like the fuel container I attached exceed the weight limit and do not fit without modification. I don't know the reason for the weight limit, but I suspect it's either: - a risk of making the machine unstable by having weight up too high, or; - the lid latch/hinge isn't strong enough to stay latched with a heavy load, under dynamic riding forces. If I were doing it again, I'd probably go with the larger 14.5L fuel caddy (p/no: 860201265), which also allows another LinQ accessory on top of it. Put that on the tunnel right behind the seat. Then go with something like the Deep Snow Pro 30L bag (p/no 860201985 ) 860201678) behind your fuel caddy in LinQ position 2.

Enjoy your videos. Just ordered my 2022 expy sport 600 efi. Would you be able to post the dimensions of the usable box space on the tunnel with the 2-up seat on? That would be helpful! I’m looking for an aftermarket (cheaper) box that would fit inside the factory rear rack extension. Appreciate your help.
@mop1471
@mop1471 3 жыл бұрын
I was looking at the '22 Expedition spec sheet, and it indicates that all Expeditions are wide-bodies for 2022. Have you confirmed that the '22 Expy 600 EFI has a narrow-body, like the '21? I can measure mine for you, but I just want to make sure my dimensions will be the same as yours. Side note: I know the Lin-Q stuff seems pricey, I thought so too. But now that I've used Lin-Q, I'm all in! The stuff is super easy to install, even easier to remove and you never have to worry about lids popping open on a ride, or anything like that! Well worth the money. I strongly recommend considering a Lin-Q cargo box.
@EricSmith-bh6rg
@EricSmith-bh6rg 3 жыл бұрын
@@mop1471 As far as I can tell the width on the rear end is based on the track width. Your dimensions would be appreciated. Pretty sure its a narrow body as the auxiliary fan is not an option on the 600 efi. The dealer told me it doesn’t fit with this chassis. I will clarify the wide/narrow body with the dealer. Thanks!

Great video, I have one question you said that your spacers are two 1/4”pcs put together making a total of 1/2” thick?
@mop1471
@mop1471 6 ай бұрын
That is correct, a single 1/4” spacer didn’t raise the mount enough for the gas can to clear the ridge on the lid of the cargo box, so I made a second set of 1/4” spacers for a total of 1/2”. Of course, now that I know this, I could re-make the spacer out of 1/2” material, but too lazy ;)

Do you think it is possible to drill the LinQ holes further back so the gas can can be used with the 1 + 1 seat installed? I have the same accessories and plan on following your method to install them.
@mop1471
@mop1471 2 жыл бұрын
I think that would work. But, if we look at the forces involved, the further back you mount the gas can, the more force will be exerted on the latch when you hit bumps, which already wasn't designed to handle this much weight. So, 'Careful!' I guess is what I'm trying to say. Keep in mind that I have no insight into the engineering of this stuff. I'm just a guy with a Ski-Doo and a drill. Gas can: Yep, but super handy. It also feels very well made compared to my 'standard' gas cans. Position 3: The LinQ Slim Waterproof Tunnel Bag, p/no 860202058 fits positions 1 & 2, or 2 & 3 (so you can put a gas can behind the seat in pos 1, then the bag on pos 2 & 3.) Or, you can store the LinQ Removable Snow Flap, p/no 860201914 on position 3 when not in use. Apart from that, I don't see any other accessories that fit position 3.

Congratulations on your Expedition Sport! The 860202245 cargo rack is for the wide-body sleds with 20” or wider tracks. My 2021 Expy Sport has a 16” wide track and is a narrow body, like a Renegade or Grand Touring. Ski-Doo may have changed this for the 2022 model year and put the wide body on the Sport - I haven’t been able to get confirmation on this yet. If your 2022 is a wide-body, then the cargo rack will be perfect for it and I’d guess that you’d have clearance for the 62L trunk too. But check with your dealer first. Regarding the electronics, rumour has it that the world-wide chip shortage has caused a delay in producing the gauge electronics. Ski-Doo has been shipping the assembled sleds without the gauge component, which will be shipped out later for the dealer to install. No big deal to install this part, just one connector and two screws. Hopefully these parts arrive before the snow!

The accessories I used the most were: - Ski-Doo BV2S helmet with heated visor (best helmet I’ve ever owned!) - Glove box extension with heated cell phone holder (I ran the Go Snowmobiling Ontario app, which turned my phone into a moving-map GPS system on my dashboard!) - USB charger keeps my phone topped up while it’s displaying maps for me. - Heated visor plug lets me plug in my BV2S helmet, and keeps my heated visor clear in all conditions. For cargo, the problem with the 62L trunk is that it doesn’t leave any spaces for a LinQ gas can. This winter, I may try the 14.5L stackable fuel caddy behind my seat. Behind that, I’ll mount the deep snow pro bag with my emergency gear. Then, I can also add a smaller bag on top of the fuel caddy if I need.

@mop1471
@mop1471 3 жыл бұрын
I know where you're coming from and I felt the same way about the prices of the LinQ accessories. But I decided that a few hundred bucks to get a matching cargo box wasn't a big deal after buying a new sled. I bought the 62L Cargo Box. I love it! As you saw in the video, I went back and bough the 11L gas can, despite the price tag, because it's just so handy. When I buy another sled (which may happen today!) I'll go with the LinQ Stackable Fuel Caddy (p/no 860201264) in position 1, and the Deep Snow Pro Bag (p/no 860201985) in position 2. My logic: that fuel caddy is the biggest one at 14.5L AND it allows another small LinQ bag to be added on top if I ever want. The Deep Snow Pro Bag can hold 30L of cargo, plenty of space for emergency supplies + it's designed to hold an emergency shovel on top of it, so I don't have to stuff my folding shovel inside the bag, like I do in my 62L cargo box. To be clear, I'm not sponsored or paid in any way. I'm buying this stuff out of my pocket at full retail price. And after using LinQ, I really think it's fantastic and worth every penny. At this point, I really can't imagine spending all winter strapping boxes down with bungie cords just to save about 2 or 3% on my new Ski-Doo invoice. One more thing: Ice Scratchers, p/no 860201279 were fantastic additions for me! We had very little snow this winter, and before installing ice scratchers, when riding in very low-snow (1/2 inch or less), I'd have to stop occasionally to let the sled cool. With Ice scratchers, as long as there was some snow, the Expedition was fine to cruise along at 50-60km/hr for hours on end. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iNlhm9yczZrUiYk.html

@@robm9581 USB charger and heated visor plug are indispensable, in my opinion. I also went with glovebox extension with heated cell phone holder. It's pretty neat. After seeing the moving-map software running on my cell phone in the dash, my buddies all call my sled the 'Cadillac'. I don't have the skid plate, but I probably should. The Expedition spent a fair bit of time in challenging off-trial terrain last winter.

@mop1471

The saying goes: "If you have a hundred dollar head, buy a hundred dollar helmet." I went with the Ski-Doo BV2s with heated visor. It's the best helmet I've ever used, by far. I've never tried the Ski-Doo Oxygen helmet, but it looks fantastic too. BV2s has an integrated red light on the back so you don't get run-over if you're off your sled at night. Light is powered by two 'AA' batteries and you can turn it on and off with a push-button switch. BV2s is available with a dual-layer visor, or a heated dual-layer (get the heated!) All winter, 1,200kms of riding, the visor NEVER fogged up while the heater cable was plugged in. It has a medical-grade silicone breath box which is really neat: when you inhale, you breathe in warm air from inside the helmet, but when exhaling, your breath is directed outside the helmet. I wasn't too sure about this at first, but it works great and was very comfortable once I got used to it. The BV2s also has integrated 'sunglasses' that you can raise or lower independently of the visor. I love this feature because it means I won't have a pair of gas-station sunglasses near my eyes if I'm ever involved in a crash. When stopped, I can raise the visor and fold down the breath box to talk or just to get some fresh air. Also, with the helmet open, I look like a fighter pilot! In terms of downsides, the silicone breath box allows condensation to form, so you need to clean it regularly (every ride or two.) In warmer weather, the heated visor is sometimes uncomfortably warm and there's no vent to let cold air into the helmet, so I sometimes find myself cracking the visor open a bit to let cool air in. We also have an Origine Corsa (modular) and an Origine Venator (motocross style), both with heated visors, both from Canadian Tire. Both Origine helmets have integrated 'sunglasses' and both offer vents that you can open or close (which the BV2s doesn't have.) The Origine helmets do not have integrated red lights on the back. Personally, I find the BV2s more comfortable than either Origine helmet. My teenage son uses the Venator and likes it because of the MX style. He often takes the visor off and just wears goggles, but tells me the heated visor works well. My wife uses the Corsa and she's fine with it. By all accounts, the Origine is a reasonable helmet for a good price, but lacks the quality of the BV2s. Finally, I have a Bell helmet for automotive motorsports. I've worn it snowmobiling in the past, but it wasn't designed for cold weather (has a single-layer visor.) It fogs up quickly, then ices up, then I can't see where I'm going.

The fuel caddy is easy to secure to the snowmobile via the LinQ cleats. I can secure it to my sled in seconds and know it's not going to fall off. I have used it, but not all that often because the sled has over 200km of range on a tank of fuel and I rarely travel that far (I'm pretty worn out after about 120kms.) I've used the fuel caddy more to fuel up the 2002 Grand Touring on long trips when we take both sleds.

I had some 1/4" x 1" stock aluminum laying around, so I made them myself. The reinforcement plate under the trunk lid is a continuous piece of 1/4" aluminum crossing both LinQ holes. One reinforcement plate for the left, one for the right. Each reinforcement plate has 2 holes drilled matching the size and spacing of the LinQ holes. The risers are 2 pieces of 1/4" aluminum, making a 1/2" riser. I cut and shaped the aluminum to match the LinQ cleat footprint. Then: Paint it black & hit the track.
