Skiddaw Mountain in the Lake District - Now this is Mountain Biking (4K)

This is by far the BEST TRAIL that we have ridden. It's crazy Gnarly and starts with the Ulluck Pike descent, which is a very steep, loose, and wild descent (far more gnarly than than the Avalanche trail at the Golfie).
Then the trail just continues on and on, overlooking truly epic scenery, all the while offering countless line choices of gnarly tech!
We have ridden a lot, but we are in agreement this trail is truly special for many reasons.

Oh awesome. Dude it truly is wild, I very rarely wear a chest cam as it makes the terrain look flat, but damn it’s steep haha

So great to see Skiddaw again. The first time I did her was 1990 on a fully ridged Klein Attitude, I remember it like it was yesterday. So pleased your drone recovery was successful... feewww😬. Great video. Stay safe and shred well you two ✊🤘

Myself and my mates rode this 2 year ago, it's definitely worth the trip. We drove up from Suffolk. We made a weekend of it and it was EPIC!

So here's me looking for a challenge... thinking, I know, I'll take this vintage MTB, convert it to some mega 1x11 gearing, some v brake and wide bars and take it up an actual mountain. Apparently Skiddaw is rideable.... I don't know if I want THAT much of a challenge. Haha Great footage guys and great riding. Thanks!

Thank you, it was an amazing experience. We both have Shimanoebike XT 12 speed, which definitely helped getting up the steep terrain

Nice ride that is did it years ago before webcams and stuff. Easy ride tho did it both ways. One of the best rides I use to do in the lakes was castle crag pretty hairy at times 😅

Yep. That’s a footpath ergo illegal on a bike in England which is an absolute pain. Here in the Lakes a huge amount of the best rides are footpaths so choose your time wisely. After 10 years based in Aberdeenshire it took a long while to get used to the animosity to MTBers again on footpaths when I moved back to Cumbria.

Hey, sorry we don’t have a GPX, it took us 1-1.5 hours on ebikes but that was with stopping etc

Hey, glad you enjoyed it. It’s the Ullock pile descent to start, then you veer right down the Skiddaw descent. We didn’t use any app for the route

@@LukeMegBiking my first completion of the Yorkshire Three Peaks was a normal day but on Whernside it was torrential and I could barely see. It’s k own for being a nightmare in even moderately bad weather.

It definetly is the perfect trail for the ebb, makes you fall in love with biking all over again! Fingers crossed we can all get back out shredding soon!
