I actually just made the switch to SKIL. I don't have the self propelled version, but it is so lightweight that it doesn't even matter. I can get my whole lawn done with it still having one bar of battery left. My next move is to use up all the gas I have in my trimmer and then make the switch. YES! It IS powerful enough to cut grass just as easy as a gas mower. No more maintenance of spark plugs, oil, filters etc. This is the best budget friendly mower out there in my opinion.

Rob and Sara, thanks for bringing us another tool review. I’d like nothing more than the ability to switch from gas to electric! There’s a few good reasons why I’d love to win the Skill Electric Lawnmower...my Toro Recycler is on the fritz and this might be the last season for it. During the summer I tend to cut my lawn in the early evening when it’s cooler. Inevitably it starts to get dark, so those headlights could come in real handy, as there’s nothing worse than looking at the cut job in the morning, only to find out some strips are 4” tall and others 6”. Lastly, it would be a lot quieter than my gas mower, helping to create some additional harmony with my neighbors! Thank you for the opportunity!

I have been dying to switch to a battery operated mower for ages now. Just haven't had the money for it. You get to help save the environment and you save money off the cost of gas which makes your life easier! No need to run to gas station or lug a big tank. And you can store this vertically?! Like a dream come true for a 1 car garage!

Room in my shed is already at a premium, so being able to store it upright and get rid of gas tanks would be awesome.

I've been trying to convince my 10yr-old that he can earn a bit of extra pocket money by mowing the lawn every week; but our old, heavy, 6hp Craftsman is a little much for him and he needs my help to get it started. A self-propelled electric would be amazing!

I would think you would want to save the fun of trying out new tools for yourself 😂😂 I’m impressed with how far these electric mowers have come, It used to take me several hours with a corded mower to mow a fairly small lawn, and now these cordless mowers seem to be able to chew up anything in their path. It would be a definite upgrade to the mower we currently have!

I’m a truck driver and not home very much. My wife and I are at retirement age. She could really use the light weigh mower around our 3/4 acre lot, along with her riding mower, of course !!!

I am 61, and my current mower is a gas Troybuilt and not spec propelled. This would be lighter to push, more easy to maintain, and healthier to the environment. And my Troybuilt is down and out right now.

I want to switch to battery for multiple reasons: quieter, more convenient, less messy maintenance, and I just love battery powered 😁

My current mower is a 15 year old briggs and stratton engine strapped onto a 5 year old craftsman mower deck I found on someones curb. The deck that i was using with the 15 year old engine was completely rusted out so as soon as i seen a mower with a blown engine i knew what to do. It is not practical at all as the safety handle is bypassed because the cable was too short from the old engine so i wired a switch to shut the engine down when i am finished cutting the grass. Its also starting to smoke a bit cuz i think the rings are shot on it so it probably only has this season left and shes done lol. This mower will literally make my life so much easier, i hope i can win it 🤞🏼

I want to switch from gas to a battery mower because I only use it to clean up around the the edges of my lawn and a gas mower is a lot of work!!

The reason why i want to switch from gas to electric b/c electric is very easy to start no matter what the case is. After a long winter my mower take some fine tuning before i can start it in the spring, with electric i dont have to worry about that at all. Best of all electric don't pollute the air and the less noise is great benefit to have. You can cut the grass at 7 AM in the morning without piss off your neighbor.

I would like to have an electric for the quit running. I am and early riser and would love to be able to mow at that time.

I have to clean the carb on my gas mower almost every year and the self propelled lever gets stuck in drive.

Believe me, this won't be in my yard anytime soon. Saw my neighbor with this mower and it was a constant bog battle with the grass. I'll stick with my greenworks pro for now thanks

I have a gas powered rider but if I won I would give it to my parents, with my dad physically disabled he can no longer cut the grass. This now leaves my mother to do the job. The biggest problem she has is using the pull cord on the gas mover. Which would make this skil mover ideal for her.

Wireless electric would be awesome no fuel mixture no gas tank. No bad smell! No pumping and priming wondering if it will turn on.

Ive got the 40v blower and that battery lasts like 10 min. No way to use the same battery to cut the entire lawn with.

Nice mower. gas is way old school, noisy, and polluting. Just like I switched all my light to leds, my security cameras to solar power, I am changing my outdoor owner equipment to cordless. It’s cleaner, quieter, and lighter live confidently and peacefully

No more gas and oil fills and changes, no more winterizing the mower, no more feeling like I'm waking the entire neighborhood up or disrupting backyard get-togethers. As a good citizen, I'd like to be more environmentally responsible. As an overweight middle-aged man, I'd like to be able to continue cutting my elderly family, friends, and neighbors lawns without destroying my back by loading and unloading a gas mower in and out of my hatchback. That looks "sharp" and it would be most welcome.

Electric motor much quieter and done have to fight it during winter to turn it on like gas.
