I remember I uploaded a replay with this tank when this tank was brand new and just added to the test server, I managed to do 11.9K damage and 9 kills.. sadly after that I never had a battle like that on the live server unfortunately. The gun is fantastic.

@damian runkel yeah, sadly I didn’t had another battle like that ever again hahaha. Also thanks to the many patches the game had ever since, the replay won’t play anymore which is even more sad. I believe it’s still uploaded to that replay site but can’t tell for sure.

Skill: "You can bounce some shots, but it's armor is paper." Also Skill: Bounces 2,600 damage in that same game.

well it has maximum of 60mm of armor while most of it is 40/50mm, sounds kinda paper. But yeah, this armor is pretty unique in this game, as you don't really care about the enemy penetration but rather about their caliber, when you face enemy tanks with 105mm guns you can straight up obliterate them without losing any hitpoints. I tend to play more aggresively in it when I don't see any high caliber guns in the enemy team, and treat as paper tank when there are a lot of big guns in the battle.

@@NtrosXo actually this is another thing about this tank, it has anti heat shields, so when heat is involved even high caliber guns will struggle to penetrate it. It's very clever design

I love all the S-tanks. The tech tree 9 and 10 Moreso than the 8, because they can get semi-aggressive with their funny swede armor. The Strv. S1 is the fastest "traditional" doorstop tank (so, no UDES 03) and it snapshots probably the best in the game.

The 103B has 1 thing to its advantage and 1 negative (I personally think armor glitch) compared to the 103-0. For some reason the same 40mm lower plate can no longer bounce 120mm guns, I can't answer that one, but the huge advantage the B gets is that HEAT fence. Not only does it completely negate HEAT rounds (even the Jag E100s) it counts as spaced armor negating overmatch, meaning as long as a shell goes through the spaced armor and hits at greater than a 70 degree angle, you can auto bounce all shells in the game, even the Jag E100s and FVs AP rounds. Also Skill is slightly wrong about the armor. It has 40mm on the vertical line with the gun, the left and right side is 50mm with 60mm on the lower thirds. But to stress again, even the 40mm section can bounce a 183mm AP shell if it hits the spaced armor first.

@@a-_-a Yes, correct on the HEAT pen, it's based on distance, so for most HEAT it negates it and for the Jag E100, if you angle it more you can negate its HEAT across most of it. I didn't know about the 10 caliber rule, but as long as you angle your upper plate, you can bounce all calibers in the game just a few inches vertically from the armor seam. It can be funny, I've bounced a tier 10 arty AP round with the B before.

@@StanleyMilgramm Source? Any WOT armor viewer, real life, physics. I don't have a direct link for you. I've played WOT since alpha over 10 years ago, it's been common knowledge since HEAT was added. After normalization , regular shells lose a little bit of penetration from the distance between contacting different objects but lose most of their penetration from the thickness x the material type it goes through. HEAT doesn't normalize and doesn't start losing its RNG selected penetration value until it first detonates but loses exponentially more penetration the more air it has to travel through after detonation (loss through armor thickness is similar to kinetic but material multipliers may be different). Since WOT doesn't have composit armor, air is the best defense against HEAT in the game.

My go to setup for this is turbo-rammer-optics it can play aggressively like a semi medium tank camping at the red line is nice but not always the best thing to do. Turbo also increases you max speed in sieg mode .

@@pendragonshall Turbo is very strong on this especially if you are more of an agressive kind of player . Its gives extra speed forward so you can peek faster and reverse at 12kmh or more insted of 10 is very strong to dodge shots you can use double bushes more effectively to spot yourself or peekaboo on on hills and with the trolish armor you can bounce a lot its also increases your engine power and its turns to turning speed during sieg and increased travel speed on cruiser mode . Simply you gain INSANE dynamics . Turbo on Strv S1 is meh cuz the engine is weak on Udes there is no armor to use it on 103-0 is ok but the gun is trash actually but on the Strv103B is insanity .

Turbo and rammer are two things this tank does not need at all. The DPM is so high that using a rammer is unnecessary. You only gain like .3 second reload with a rammer, which will never make a difference. The turbo gives you a 2mph boost when reversing in siege mode, so again, not enough to make a difference. Binocs and Camo Net are required on a TD like this. The other slot you can use whatever in, but again, turbo and rammer are probably not as useful as improved aiming, or hardening, or additional grousers.

@@TehButterflyEffect depends on the what you like turbo is way better than grousers in many ways optics is cuz the view range is good enough so i want to see things on the move to and the last rammer gives a nice boost of DPM like on the STB-1 hardenin would be great at the city the aiming mmm you already have godlike accuracy dont need it i use it on my Grille-15 but this tank dont need it . Maybe vents than to boost everything . 1 thing for sure its a versatile tank .

I love to brawl with the Strv 103B!! If you are top tier and if you have a good chance to bounce ... rush the MD's on a hill or brawl spot and you can go into siege mode and rock left and right on reload and just keep creeping forward in between shots. You need backup so you don't get flanked, but it will bounce all day long, protect for HE with the Mod on slot. and It really messes with people when you are pressing with the Strv... they seem to have know idea what is going on and panic as you pump rounds into them. lol

One question Skill if I may? Why does this get rated purple on your website (5 stars) and the tier 9 green (4 stars) yet they have exactly you have rated them exactly the same on star wise in the sub category sections? It seems one would be incorrect then? I'm guessing it would be the tier 10 as the tier 8 is green and the same amount of sub cat stars (just one exchanged for another) as the tier 9, so with that in mind the tier 10 TD should be green yeah? Not purple?

Haha yes as with a nrea 3gunmark Grille15 i always hold my shot waiting to its side or for a fast pray cuz it can easily bounce my shell lol . More often i still pen in the front but cant rush it .

I can confirm it can be mad aggro. Once I was on the receiving end of this when 103B just got into a close brawl with our 3 heavies/mediums tier8s. Ripped all apart in no time

Looking at the parameters, 103B is better than UDES and 103-0, right? Because i have no idea why i'm so bad in 103B... with 103-0, UDES, and bot mid-tier Ikvs I was playing quite well, colour green to blue, but with 103B I'm yellow and idk why... it's better...

Yeah, same here. UDES03 is REALLY good at hiding, so I did pretty well in it. 103-0 is really good for DPM, but gun has lower alpha and it doesn't hide as good. Still, I seemed to do better in it. 103B? No matter what I do, I get spotted and penned. My winrate in it is the lowest out of every other tank in that line, which is saying something because NONE of the tanks in that line can carry at all.

Hello skill, I was there last stream asking about the 430's marking and stuff and you've recommended to watch your vids about it but there is only 2 of them and the last one is a year old already (the other one is like from 2019). Would you please consider to make a new one with the possible builds? I think its still a very fun tank to play with

@@tropicau6525 I might give it a shot in the future but for now I want to try to mark a tank for the first time as a goal and 430 is basically so lovely even after only 2 days of owning it. Then before E50 i might grind out the 140 too since I've unlocked the T-54 also and fast, dpm machines seems more and more charming

@@mgb1905 I too was grinding the T-54 to get to the Obj. 140. I have the 140 unlocked but haven't had the credits to buy it. The T-54 was such a huge disappointment after the absolute BEAST MODE tank that the T-44 was.

One reason I still use XVM is for the zoom indicator on the reticle. Wish vanilla WoT implements this as well. Helps me keep my zoom level in check for mid/close range combat. The added zoom customization is also nice. Tunnel vision hasn't been much of a problem. I see you also always close zoom between shots. It is hard to do with strv 103b as it reloads really fast

nah, it's specifically a caliber rule, you could have 1mm of pen and pen with this rule and you could have 1000mm of pen and not pen a well angled armor of STRV if your caliber is too low. This is why tanks like T110E3 with their 375mm of penetration could bounce of STRV 103B as some parts of it are 60mm thick, meaning you would require a gun having over 180mm of pen to actually damage it in that spot. Penetration values don't have such rules, it's literally the pen vs effective armor, first you take into account all these rules, angles, distances etc then after that you simply compare pen to effective armor the one with higher number wins.
