If they did that, they wouldn't make their daily quota for Double Handling. It could be to waste time and slow down production. Because that's what they are doing after each stage, double handling. Adding a step that has no benefit in the process that goes towards finishing the product they are making. A step that doesn't contribute to production at all, having no worth; monetarily, to the finished product. Even my grandson pointed out they don't need to do it. He's 5.
