Apparently his death was due to “budget cuts” as confirmed by the voice actor.

In my mind, he died because I don't consider the Undercover Robots animated series to be a normal sequel. When the fan series "Revenge of Galvatron" comes out, only then will I be able to take it for continuation. And it depends on the quality of the show.
