I fell in love with Audrey in "My fair lady". It doesn't matter what relationships she had. You see if you DO love someone you want the best for them. So if some Hollywood star wanted a bit of privacy then THAT is what any fan that cares should give them. And for humanitarian work, many of us want to make a difference. Individually we cannot do much. But if we ALL did a little bit then the world would truly be a better place. Motives are irrelevant to that.

I agree. There are always naysayers who will try to minimize any effort one makes to help others. She seemed like a genuine person, lovely, graceful, and underneath, doubtless sad she wanted true love that would last. The abandonment issues have a lasting hold it seems.

Audrey Hepburn was a strong character and had abilities to help the allies while she danced and pass important information during WW2. Amazing young woman to help the war helpful. So she was a incredible actress and in her first film, "Gregory Peck" realized she was such a talent he requested her name be on the front with his name of the film, "Roman Holiday." So talented she got an Oscar nomination and won the Oscar too.

Audrey Hepburn and her entire family were liberated by the Canadian army in 1945. They were huddled in their cellar or basement when they heard the unmistakable sound of infantry outside crossing their property. Audrey decided she had to know if these were the Germans or Allied liberators. So she screwed up her courage, climbed her way up to one of the doors and stepped outside. That can be very dangerous as soldiers in combat can sometimes shoot first and ask questions later if someone pops out a doorway surprising them. She did indeed surprise the Canadians but they immediately saw that she had been suffering badly from the famine intensely scourging Holland in 1944-45. So they dug out all the spare rations they could and filled her arms with chocolates and other energy supplying foods for her and her family. Audrey said that she drank a can of cream and immediately vomited it out, as her starved stomach just could not process the richness of it. Many people think her health problems including with cancer can be traced back to WW2 and the nutritional privations she suffered in the Nazi occupied Netherlands.

Even though you might be starving you have to go very slow. A little water then wait. A bite, two at the most if small then wait. 5 to 10 minutes then another little bit. Rushing isn't good for people or animals. Slow and steady wins the race.
@ToddSauve
@ToddSauve Ай бұрын
@@lorimiller4301 I have never been that hungry or malnourished, but it must be virtually impossible to keep yourself from gobbling down something. The Nazis found that feeding the men in Stalingrad who had been starved in 1942-43 was very dangerous when they all started dying. At length they discovered there were digestive problems for them and they had to really be careful how much food they let them have, and when, and fats absolutely had to be introduced slowly. It was probably whatever fats were in the tin of cream or milk Audrey Hepburn drank that made her vomit it out. Starvation is a terrible thing. Many grandparents starved to death in the Netherlands that winter of 1944-45 in order to have their grandchildren survive.

I wanted to think about her and I knew there weren't any deep things. Just tough things during the war. She was so kind, and radiant. She was puzzled by how people loved the way she looked. She was happy with her sons and husband which she deserved to be. If she hadn't been determined to go on that last Unicef trip she might have gotten medical care that could have saved her.

A very harsh and misogynistic precis of a remarkable, talented, strong woman's life who gave so much to her Art and to the World during a very difficult time for many women disempowered and preyed upon yet she retained her focus, weathered the storms and survived, gave back to many altruistically but likely repaying in her mind the kindness of others in her life. I saw nothing negative in her tale, only the inane bitterness of dumb people who envied her beauty, talent and success. If we could ask Princess Diana RIP who weathered similar discrimination, hypocrisy and challenges, who was her mentor, who gave her the inspiration and courage to walk through a minefield or hug and kiss a child with HIV, I am sure that she would say Audrey Hepburn! You could ask Angelina Jolie the same question why does she give so much time to being a Children's Ambassador but she may say Diana and Audrey. None of these women needed to or gained wealth and privilege from their "charity" and it is simply disgusting to query their motives, there are people will good hearts!

Real starvation is to not only not have enough food and drink (maybe water ) but to not even have nutritious foods to eat !! I am thankful for my life - we were Dairy Farmers which means milk and butter , and we raised a garden and we had beef, pork and Chickens which means eggs. We had fruit tree and Walnut trees . A fair amount of kilos plus.... and she would have been a charming dark haired princess. Was her weight forced upon her by mercyless film bosses who had a certain image of her in their minds? I guess so. Anyway she was a splendid, still very special actress and many of her movies stood the test of time.

The narrator managed to weave a web of useless mystery around the life of Audrey, who openly fought her way through the adversities she faced.

Oh, and who's body is that in the thumbnail? Everyone knows she was very slender, gamine-like, and had a small chest...a dancer's body. Very deceptive video on many levels. Shame.

Interesting video about one of Hollywood brightest star. However, the commentator was very irritating. Kept repeating himself and talking way too much and repeating the same information.

According to Altiyan Childs video on Freemasons Audrey Hepburn was a mason. If true ,this adds another mystery.
