To add to my previous comment on this video-I have to say that I absolutely love you! I am 73 so really have no business watching someone as young as you, but your advise is good for all ages. Everything I have seen you recommend is spot on in my opinion. I asked my dermatologist what the best skin care products and he said "Tretinoin, a good moisturizer, good cleansing and a good sunscreen." But I like to try to do everything I can for my skin, so I am really into the serums and exfoliants in addition. You are also so much fun to watch-you have a great personality and are very intelligent. Kudos to you for being able to make KZfaq your main job!

The one thing I’d note about the Skinceuticals is that this brand actually funded a lot of the studies that helped us to stabilise ascorbic acid (such as formulating it with Vittamin E and Ferulic), which obviously aren’t cheap! Whilst obviously other brands have used that research to make more affordable versions along the same lines that can be enjoyed by more people, that is the main reason their pricing is so high.

And that is how you win a loyal subscriber: tones of well and easily explained info, beyond useful comparisons *without being mean about any product* That is the vibe I love!: "what works for me may not work for you and viceversa". The Ordinary’s mask is my favorite. Because I live in a very polluted city and it is the one product that I swear by to help my skin get rid of all that. And it’s great for my upper body too.

Vanicream face wash is my favorite because unlike CeraVe, it removes ALL my eye and face makeup gently with no extra rubbing. It melts my makeup off and I never have to use a makeup remover. Im going to try the face moisturizer and see how that works for me. Thanks for all the good info! PS I don’t wear waterproof mascara so not sure about how it works for that.

I just bought the vanicream moisturizer. I used to use cerave on my face & I loved it! My skin is dry, too. However, I've recently learned that silicone moisturizer can make sunscreen pill (I didn't pay attention to that before), & I believe the vanicream is silicone free. I still enjoy cerave for my body though.

EltaMD UV Clear and EltaMD UV Clear TINTED aren’t the same. The clear one is the best! I have rosacea and I can only use the clear one that is not tinted

CeraVe Healing Ointment is amazing. I use it on my lips and around my eyes before I apply Differin and 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide. My husband is even hooked on using it in place of lip balm. I wouldn’t say skincare is a big concern for him, but it just works that well!

Great video! When I first bought the Cerave lotion, I found that it cause my face to break out. I didn't want it to go to waste, so I decided to use it as a body moisturizer--it's the perfect weight, light but still effective, and never gets sticky. Later on I started using the Cerave lotion as carrier for my Isle of Paradise Tanning Drops--and it's perfect. Now I'm on my fourth bottle!

I mix a drop of the Ordinary AHA peel in with my foot cream and put on socks! It is awesome! And you can't beat the Ordinary's prices!

My favorite dupe for face moisturizer is the Cetaphil Redness Relieving Night Moisturizer. It has ceramides and niacinimide. The DRMTLGY sunscreen sounds great. Enjoyed the video!

Vanicream has some ingredients I wouldn't want , Such as BHT is one of their ingredients not good for our bodies. CeraVe is a better product.

I have never tried the CeraVe lotion, just the cream and the PM moisturizer. The cream is my favorite body lotion ever. I try to only buy cruelty free and find I am still buying that cream. I like the PM lotion as well, fantastic ingredients, but it is shiny and sticky on my skin. Would love to see dupes on these, cruelty free ones. Would love a part 2. Thank You Abby. Haven't tried Vanicream. But I like Cerave especially when I have Curel serum first then apply Cerave thereafter. It hydrates and moisturises my skin really good. Never breaks me out and always soothes my skin when it's irritated.

I use the Vanicream Daisly Moisturizer for Sensitive skin as well as the Cleanser. I'm very fair with pink undertones, over 60, normal to dry skin and these products work very well for me, plus they are very affordable and can be purchased at Walmart as well as on Amazon. My problem is finding a suitable mineral sunscreen that I can wear under my makeup without feeling greasy. I'll try your recommendations, Abbey, thank you.

I have always loved the DRMTLGY tinted sunscreen to the Elta MD. The Elta MD always pills on me! And it actually looks really light on me and I have light skin.

I use the vanicream daily facial moisturizer also and love it over the CeraVe. I also use the drmtlgy non tinted sunscreen and then use the elta md physical tinted over it. These are my HG for my rosacea and reactive skin. Been wanting to try the timeless vitamin c, but haven't yet

Currently using the vanicream moisturizer on a highly acne prone and oily skin and I can say I loveeeee it! Does not makes me oily yet I feel moisturized and not side effects

I must be weird because I didn't like the Vanicream, it left my face way too shiny and looking like an oil slick, even though I have dryish skin! The CeraVe lotion just soaks in better and feels so nice to me, it will always be something I use. I actually bought the baby CeraVe lotion to try that on my face. Good info, though, I feel like you missed your calling as a dermatologist lol!

It's great to learn about an Aquaphor alternative for those that are allergic to lanolin. However, Aquaphor isn't just a little bit better than Vaseline. Lanolin is a key ingredient to how well it works for so many people. It's why the Bite Agave Lip Mask was so popular, and nipple cream (100% lanolin) is another popular dupe. Aquaphor also includes panthenol that you mention the Cerave ointment has, and glycerin, a common humectant. Aquaphor contains no preservatives, while Cerave contains phenoxyethanol. It's a very common preservative, so most people have no problem with it, but as with any other ingredient, some people can be sensitive to it. In general, the ingredient list for Aquaphor is much shorter than Cerave, so it can be easier to avoid sensitivities. Overall, I would recommend for people to try Vaseline, Aquaphor, and the Cerave ointment even if one or two of the three haven't worked. Vaseline could work best for someone with lots of ingredient sensitivities, Aquaphor best for people who react well to lanolin, and Cerave for those who are allergic to lanolin, but need the extra boost from added ingredients on top of Vaseline.

Cera Ve has made my skin glow and heal from dryness. It's the only product I'll use. I've tried many.

CeraVe moisturizing lotion is my go to body lotion, especially at summer. It works wonders and is lightweight. Used to apply it also on my face but need to try the alternative you've mentioned 🤔

Why would someone use the Ordinary peeling solution daily? It clearly states it should not be used more than twice a week.

I was obsessed with the Nutrogena HydroBoost gel cream moisturizer, but I think the Aveno calm & soothing gel oat moisturizer is better. You should review those!

OG products- vanicream facial cleanser, vanicream lite lotion, Olay moisturizing original cream (its been around for years and I went through so many and its the best under makeup, absorbs, keeps my skin clear and has fragrance which is not the best, so it's all about trial and error) Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream in a tub (not HG status but I do love it once in a while at night ONLY), Clinique Moisturizing Cream not the lotion, Nivea Soft, Mac studio fix powder foundation, Mac face and body, Becca bronzer, these are the products I have purchased countless times.

You'd have to pry the Elta MD UV clear out of my cold dead hands lol. I am cool toned but I don't find it makes me orange, but I will maybe try the drmtlgy one.

the reason why skinceuticals c e ferulic is so expensive is bc theres clinical data that backs it up. skinceuticals spends a lot of money, time and research into this product. I know it’s an expense but you get what you pay for. however not everyone can tolerate this formula. nonetheless I love your videos!💕

the sunscreen that has changed my skin completely from living in florida and having sun damage is Murad Essential-C Day Moisture Broad Spectrum SPF 30 | PA+++.It is $65 and I just can't afford it anymore. And it is on the heavy side and white. But I used it for several months and it literally lightened my skin and smoothed it out.

Definitely going to try the vanicream!! The cerave has always been too lightweight for me, and it even feels stripping? Like when you wash your face with a stripping face wash and it’s tight/stings? Maybe it’s an allergy. So excited to have a dupe to try!

It’s more about the formulation that makes a better absorption for the vitamin c. And there is 2 products out there no matter what u can’t beat. If u have the money they invest. If u don’t it’s fine to pick a different brand.

I really like the DRMTLGY sunscreen. I used 3 bottles after your recommendation. I've recently started using Paula's Choice Winkle Defense Sunscreen and I LOVE it.

Japanese sunscreens are the best tbh. You should try them they have gel-like consistency and they're very cheap. Also, Korean sunscreen is also upping its game. Japanese and Korean sunscreen is way better than western sunscreen now in terms of consistency, finish, and most of all, price.

I’ve been having an awful time finding CeraVe healing ointment in a tube. The tub is just too much product for how I use it. I bought the CeraVe baby healing ointment, which is VERY similar to the original, and I’m really enjoying it. Just an FYI 🥰

And no, I have tried those vitamin C alternatives and they do not work the same. I continue to use the one for Skin Ceuticals because I have confirmed is far superior. It’s worth every penny.

Maybe it's important to note that the Skincuticles product has way more research on it's efficacy than the other options. This and it's patent formulation plays a big part in it's price.

I make my own vitamin c formula in small batches by mixing vitamin c powder, available at Trader Joes, with water in a 1 to 8 ratio by volume and put it in a small light-proof container. I make enough to last a week or two since it degrades with time and I apply it to my face, neck and the back of my hands with a cotton swab. When it dries, I dab on my own 1 to 9 mix of pure bakuchi oil, available at amazon, and glycerin with my finger tips. It's said to work like retinol but doesn't break down with the sun. Next I finish with Cerave Daily Moisturizing Lotion, which I just ran out of so I'll certainly try the Vanicream as you suggest.

Give us more! Lol.. how about more current dupes for very popular top makeup items like CT Setting Spray, Becca Setting powder, Tatcha Silk Setting Powder, etc.. and for skincare.. OC Retinols, Lash Serums, etc.. Great post btw

I believe its the patent on the C+E formula SkinCeuticals made is what made the product so expensive. But by general, you are right in that the brand in general is just expensive.
