20% of the dirt was lost to dust in the wind. Great job buddy. Looks badass

Thank you. Blast the dusty dry season. Hopefully, we'll get a good mountain shower soon. Seems like we get them even during the summers.

Good work on the skinny! Not sure I would be able to make that turn at the end where you did a little hop. I need to work on some of those tech skills

1:40 You should use stones and wood from around your property to secure the berms and make them stronger. Put the dirt over it. I’ve been wondering (North Texas resident here), do you guys not have much clay in your soil in Northern California? Or is it dry there?

I appreciate the tip. Great timing. I just downed a bunch of trees for future berms we are about to build. Many of my larger berms do have several logs built into them. Even these smaller ones, I'm putting all the rocks I dig up on the backside. When I get volunteers, it makes it a lot easier to cut down the dead trees and move all the logs to the berms. Way too much work do it by myself. Unless the dead trees are near by, of course. The dirt is really hit or miss. Some spots have clay, and other spots are like sand. This location on the video has really good dirt once we get some rain. I don't bother bringing water to try and pack it in. That ends up being a lot of work with very little results. The next mountain shower we get is when I go through several berms and tidy them up. The Everflow trail is the best example of the finished product on my berms. They came out really well. I believe I have a video of me and a volunteer moving a bunch of logs for a berm improvement on Everflow. Come to think of it. Thanks

Semper Fi Brother. We don't need no "nomenclature"

There is no doubt the emphasis on the orientation of the berms and impact on the ride would not have near the desired effect in the video without the effective use of the knife hand!! SFMF

I think I may have to start implementing the knife hand into my vids. I love that idea! Ooh Ra

Great work but you need to pack in some water to really make it happen, the soil is a little baked and dry.

Thanks, I've discovered that packing in water is pretty much wasted time for how much the dirt ends up actually getting packed. You can see this in some of my other videos. It's best just to wait for the next mountain rain, then I can go out there and fine-tune the berms and pack them in really well.

Awesome vid, are you guys next to a highway or something? Those cars are loud!
@mtbingadventures1551
@mtbingadventures1551 2 ай бұрын
Thank you. The confidence course is about 200 yards from highway 70. It doesn't seem very loud at Everstoke but it definitely gets picked up on the GoPro pretty good.

Any suggestion for reasonably priced, good quality MTB frame pump? These vids are like watching an artist at work. Good stuff. 👍
@mtbingadventures1551
@mtbingadventures1551 2 ай бұрын
I have no idea on pricing or quality. I keep a small hand pump in my pack or bag. I do recommend a pump with a flexible hose on the end. I used a small pump just clipped on the valve stem and every time I would pump air. It felt like I was going to break the valve or end up bending it. Also, make sure it has a good volume of air on every pump or you'll end up pumping forever. I wish I could be more help but I ended up getting kind of a crappy pump and I'm to poor to get a good one. LOL. Thanks for the great comment.
