He also passed Carmelo Anthony as Team USA’s all-time leading Olympic scorer. And this came on the same day the Brooklyn Nets announced Durant signed a four-year, $198 million contract extension with the team. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe discuss whether this makes KD the best player on the planet?

Kevin really looks happy for a change. Kevin, of all NBA players, reminds me most of a kid who also just happens to play pro basketball. By the glow of his face, one sees that KD is genuinely happy to play this game more than doing anything else. God bless Kevin Durant. Yeah, he's skinny, a bean stalk, but inside, he's also fragile. So it's harder for Team USA to win Gold then a finals? If The Bucks would have gotten bounced out of the post season and he went and played for team USA and lead them to gold he would be the best? KD had great Eastern conference games and took on The Bucks by himself , so the score was like 100-50 then , or did other score for The Nets? Giannis didn't have historic finals games or win finals MVP?

Shannon wrong. There were some ppl hating on Durant saying he couldn't lead them to gold and laughing after those 2 Ls and that France L. Because they were hoping and praying USA lost so they jump on KD. Forgetting the fact that KD lead 2 USA teams teams to Gold. LeBron in 2006 lead them to Bronze. And ppl gonna say LeBron was young. So was KD in 2010 he was 21. And Kobe lead the 2008 and 2012 team. There were LeBron happy Team USA won but mad and had to eat it because KD lead them

Dude it’s Team freaking USA with Damian Lillard, Durant, Tatum, Middleton, Booker, and Holiday. Most other countries don’t even have that much talent. That’s not even the entire team. They should’ve smoked everyone. The fact they were losing so many games like they did, it was an embarrassment. They didn’t prove anything by winning the gold, and neither did KD. They did what they were Supposed To Do.

I must tell you one thing. Your future doesnt' look all that bright. I don't see some mega star potential in these young USA players. Ja Morant is good, Zion Williamson is good, but i don't think they have that mega star potential. Other young players aren't even worth mentioning. Trust me. Once this generation of players leaves (Durant, Lebron, Steph, Klay, Dame) you're going to have some major problems winning gold.
