One of Skippy's babies has a light brown striped tail, and the other baby has a striped grayish tail. So cute! That's how I can tell the two babies, apart. : )

Dog food, cat food, or even bird seed (the good kind with nuts, dried fruit, and sunflower seeds -- that's what attracted my first bunch -- I spilled a big bag of bird seed and they showed up and cleaned it up over the course of a few nights. It was a mom and her two babies and I was in LOVE! Then I started watching these videos and getting tips and soaking in Jim's wonderfulness). I get anxiety and some sadness, too. I know what you mean when you say these help.

Skippy is so interesting. I think she might be the smartest raccoon you have had up there (besides Rascal, of course). There is something really special about Skippy, though, and it's very interesting to watch. Also, who was the fellow on the deck that she didn't want there? I wish the adults all had names. THANK YOU! This helps me so much -- you have no idea!!

OMG I adore them, cutest animals ever! You are the best and the kindest, many thanks for what you do! Raccoons are the best therapy, watching them is such a joy, there are raccoon cafes where people come to play with them, they are used in special places like clinics, to cheer up depressed humans and animals. I know it works for me. :)

Please reply to me as I'm desperate for answers: For the past month I've been leaving food and water on my back porch for 2 nightly raccoon visitors. I sit about10 feet away & talk to them while they eat. My friends are telling me this is a huge risk & they'll attack for no reason. Do you think this is hogwash, or true? How long did you feed them before they took food from your hand? Have they ever acted aggressive towards you? Thank you so much for sharing your video!! I'm in love with my 2 little visitors & I'm hoping my friends are wrong. I'd So much love to hand feed them as you are doing. ~ thank you ~ ♥ from the woods of Tennessee
@JamesBlackwoodRaccoonWhisperer5 жыл бұрын
Hi Natalie, In the 20 years I have been doing this not once did a raccoon ever show aggression towards me. I have never been bitten or scratched and even allow tourists to visit with their kids and have full trust in the animals. Just throw the food closer and closer to each time and try not to make sudden movements once they feel your no longer a threat to them they will take it out of your hand. I had one Rascal a big female that came year after year for 13 1/2 years before she died of old age. Usually they only live 3 to 5 years in the wild because of predators, sickness, starvation or hit by cars.

James Blackwood - Raccoon Whisperer Wow, I'm so excited! My husband thinks I'm nutts, but the past few weeks have given me a new excitement through the day & by 7:30 / 8pm I'm constantly looking out to see if they are there. Thank you so, so-so much!! I'm hoping that one day Ms. Flossy & Fred ( my made up names for them, i have no clue if they are male or female) will eat out of my hand too. I'm beyond thrilled with your videos & your reply to me. thank you

I find the raccoons a very loving animal and my mothers trust me with their young and leave them with me while she takes a break for forages in the forest. I am lucky to have ten acres of woodland and kept all the trees on my property and have brook and a river running through the land I have been on TV a number of times doing interviews and get stopped quite often when I am shopping. I get a lot of visitors from the states and across Canada visiting here. I have a lady from Cyprus who is making her third trip here. She is staying for the whole summer this time and got to spend Christmas up to mid February here to experience snow for the first time.
