I've got my red estate in se business spec on order now for the Mrs. After a test drive I was sold. Ticks every box the Mrs wanted and I added some extra toys for me :). Cannot wait to get the new car.

Nice review. As a heads up the estate does not have 200 litres more boot space than the hatch, it has an extra 35 litres as the hatch has 625 litres. Also the passat estate has 650 litres so only a difference of 10 litres.

+Adam Spurgeon Good point, for some reason I only look at boot space with seats up for regular use. Whatever the figures, the Superb boot is massive, its not let me down yet ;)

+Adam Spurgeon I was just the same, but the difference in cost was over £100 month for same spec so pretty much my fuel paid for each month. Most of the switch gear is the same as is the satnav system. I think you would be happy with either as they are both excellent cars. For me the superb's extra practicality, space, and cost savings swung it. I also actually quite like driving a Skoda as I know its a better car than most on the road who are paying a lot more. I intend to get another one in 3 years. Good luck with choosing, whichever you choose you will be a happy man. The adaptive cruise control is awesome.

i got the saloon in laser white never thought i would drive a white car but when i seen it in flesh . it shows its styling best . and it makes the new vw passat look old and dull . and its full of more kit than most reviews show you like l.e.ds on number plate and l,e.d puddle lights under wing mirrors . if you are going to drive up someones ass it brakes for you and alarm sounds . and it looks great, and for the money it blows every car brand to the wayside .

The red colour looks really good on the new Superb. I would like to see you test the 1.4 tsi to see if its worth it for someone that don't make a lot of kms per year.

2.0 litre 217bhp petrol for me. Just cant decide with the colour, Black, White or Gun metal Grey for the hatch.

Really appreciate your review, however, I think £1200 extra for the estate for only an extra 35l of boot space is too much. You incorrectly mention it has 200l of extra room over the hatch. Skoda have done a great job.

It's very impressive how Skoda take VW parts and build such good cars with them. They still aren't fun to drive though. I'd have this over a Passat any day, but would far prefer the Mondeo or Mazda 6 (actually, I have the 2nd gen Mazda 6 TS2 2.2D estate, so I already made my choice ;)
