@@erichmercado I have both a Ferarri and a Skoda and I'd say they feel pretty much the same. The only difference is - more women want you when you're in the ferrari, but you can put more women in the Skoda. : )

Skoda has been killing it lately with its cars. Absolutely brilliant. A word of advice though to anyone who's looking to buy this car (like me). You MUST spec the bi xenon projector headlights and panoramic roof, they make this car look very expensive. That's the best compliment you can say to a car, that it looks more expensive than it is :)

They are not standard only on the two lowest trim levels. Those poverty spec levels are usually oriented towards rental car companies :) No way would I buy a base spec car :D

Great review. Looks like a terrific car. Love the little touches. This guy's also the best at blending info and humour into an informative yet entertaining review. Is there is any auto parking feature on this car? Might be useful if its that big.

Great review, Mat. I love how thoughtfully-designed this car is. Who thought about all those practical features? It surely beats all the expensive gizmos that they pile up on many of today's more expensive vehicles.

damn, this car has about as much room in the back as an audi a8 / s class and the rolls royce inspired umbrella in the door is pretty cool too! Looks good! Awesome car!

I really like your car reviews, exact the information someone needs and some humor. That is in general what this world is going to save: more humor! I myself will consider buying a Superb next year, now drive V70 D5 diesels, great cars but they have some expensive issues. In Holland driving a V70, E-klass, 5- series or A6 will cost you around 160 and 180 Euro tax for maintaining the roads EACH MONTH! It is ridiculously expensive only to OWN the car ( based on its weight )....than insurrance around 70 Euro eacht month, fuel is not the cheapest in Europe also not the most expensive and we have those 'nice' environmental zones wich where you only may drive for a couple of years from now with Euro 3 and 4 vehicles, another reason to go for a Euro 5 vehicle : But I will miss the Volvo's, the Skoda basic diesel is in no way a match for Volvo's D5 engines, and the full leather seats in front and the back are unmatched. Those Volvo seats are more than great, another thing you cannot get by the VAG-group. but the Superb is more modern, little bit bigger ( yes yes! ) and more economical and so for me by far the best option as a replacement for the V70 or perhaps the E-class Benz, but far to expensive for my budget and not so friendly garage bills!

In previous gen Superb vid it looks like had more legroom and with thicker, higher rear seats - more comfort. I'd probably go for that. Or if could afford this, I'd reach for Passat Variant, cos they look the same dimensions and proportions.

I like watching all reviews of Carbuyer. From all other car review channels I feel carbuyer is the best channel for the car reviews. Carbuyer channel shows practicality in all cars, there is comedy in reviews of Mat Watson. Can Mat Watson do the review of this Skoda Superb in sedan version.

Miguel Eduardo Skoda is VW - they design them, they make the Prices, they develop all the parts used in the car, they make the campaign and everything else. Skoda is just the badge - same with all other brands in the vw Company. I drive a Skoda too - Yeti^^

This car may be a bit derivative in terms of using VAG technology but it does offer tremendous value and practicality.I like Mat's advice on getting a larger engine to tow. These will be used to tow, unlike Golfs etc. It is quite a light car for its size (from under 1500kg) Add a caravan though.........

Also, about issues....well one of polish reviewers has pointed out it is a boring to drive. Of course you cannot have it all and there is always sacrifice between sportiness and comfort when it comes to driving I believe. I would not buy one personally but I must say... it is a brilliant family car. Maybe the best one on the market for the moment.

Mat puts the 1.4-litre turbo petrol on a par with the 1.6 TDI he's testing in this vid, saying both engines are ... well, only ever okay. I think that's only true of the diesel, which, of course, is not nearly as swift as the 2.0 TDI. But the more powerful 1.4 TSI actually puts out the same amount of power as the least powerful 2.0 TDI ... which really does make the 1.4 TSI worth considering in my view. It's cheaper to buy than the 2.0 TDI, and so long as you don't drive it like a maniac, it shouldn't be that much more expensive to run, either.

But the 2.0 tdi has around 100 ft lbs of torque over the 1.4 and it comes in much earlier

Ironically Mat says the Skoda is cheaper than it's cousin the Golf estate, except here in Australia, where the the price difference is $8000 at the top of the range, in the VW favour.......

+Dan McCarthy Don't think so. Everyone knows that the people behind Car Buyer (Autocar) is basically VAG's press team. the Cactus is a very good car and genuinely offers something exciting and different. This is akin to a Volvo 740 GL in the 80s

sneakfisch Here's the thing though- there are certain features about the Cactus that they've said are negatives in other cars... that they spun around and said were actually pluses in the Cactus... things like a one-piece folding rear seat and pop-out rear windows.

Want a downside? It has VW engines so apart from fuel consuption you have to count in engine oil consumption to the running costs.

There are too many options that push up the price of the car upto £30000 which may lose more than the popular brands and delivery time, almost December which stopped me from buying it because my car was losing money.

Superb could be a better choice against the E class and the 5 series because of its practicality and its price.And also we know that the passat is also a better car than the c class and the 3 series with its 2.0 diesel engine which produces 240 BHP.This is spactecular OMG
