Hello guys ! This is another video with another quick fix for vw skoda yeti audi instrument cluster lights, be aware that instrument cluster it’s a very sensitive piece of hardware, don’t hurry and be very cautious. The cluster/dash didn’t have any backround lights , so.. first just resolder any dry joints of cluster connector and check for fried led’s and signs of moisture.. this is what i call an easy repair. If you have problems with power supply or any piece of hardware .. well.. maybe later i will cover this subject also.. Consider subscribing to my channel , thanks for watching !

I have my left turning indicator fading and appearing, could it be rather bad grounding than led fault?

My dash light is flickers in some moments and blinkers are working ok but out of sync. Does someone know a reason?

Hi! Great video! Could you help me? I'm trying to repair VW GOLF 6 instrument cluster. In my case, rpm counter Illumination and central display Illumination did not work. I replaced 3 LEDs on rpm counter side and now all rpm counter LEDs work good, but central display LEDs still don't work. I tested them and all work fine. What could be the problem? Do I have to resolder main connector like you did? Thanks!

Check polarity and dry solder joints with microscope

What about the needle illumination my rev counter has gone off completely and my speedo is flickering onnand off.

There are two for each needle, chenge the led’s

Can you test and diagnosis this before removing with a scan tool i have glow olug issues and I don't see the symbol at all just thinking it could be the bulb that's faulty and leading me down the wrong path

Test all warning lights with vcds, enter instrument cluster

I don’t have a link, most of led’s are from faulty instruments, but try on google smd led 3528.. see if they fit on your cluster

Hello! Exactly the video i was looking for. Already have the leds on the way. What type of resistor and external power you used to bench test the leds? is it 5v or 3.3v?

It’s an 12v power supply with 1k resistor (1000ohm’s)

How do I test LED’s? What battery or voltage are you using when connecting the wires?

Spot on thanks, so I can just use a 3v battery. If the cathode / anode are accidentally reversed will it damage the LED?

Very clear and instructive video but you don't explain why you turn the needles counterclockwise to get them out and how to put them in place correctly a little more explanation would be helpful
