10 years ago this was my dream car..

I do not regret owning a Skode Yeti I bought it in 2013 . Still couldn't find a car like this.

This is the parent design concept for the Harrier and hector. Skoda design team was way far ahead of what Indians appreciate almost 5 to 7 years later. The built quality of yeti and its range cars are immaculate and deserves a big applause. The main reason Skoda doesn't sell was the reason at the end of video. Inconsistent quality which is also expensive to maintain. It's simply clever.

I own this car and have been driving for the last 4 years nearly. In these four years I drove to Haridwar ( thrice),Badrinath ( once) ,Kedarnath ( once), Khatmandu ( once) . I purchased this as a used one at ODO 93,000 km for Rupees 9 and half lakh rupees in 2017. It was a 2012 model , 4*4 with 140 BHP engine, top model called SKODA YETI, elegance . Service generally cost Rs.16,500=00 here in Hyderabad. Spares and service in the last four years and my driving of 56000 km had cost me Rs.3,45,000=00 . A simple change of clutch plates and flywheel cost you as much as Rs. 1,38,000/= . You will not get tired even if you were to drive it for whole day or about 800 km in a single day. It drives extremely well ,really superb , and it is butter smooth with high sounding engine. Brakes are spongy for sure and emergency braking is not at all dependable. It is very stable to drive between 120 and 140 kmph max. At 160 kmph you will not enjoy driving it, and you will feel that it is a little bit shaky. I touched speeds of 180 kmph in rare situations. It absorbs pot holes and small bumps and ride quality is extremely comfortable. with little or no body roll. The mileage is 19 kmpl ( diesel) if at all you drive at 80 and 85 kmph on highway. At speeds of 120 and 140 kmph , all day , on National highways on a long journey gave me 16.5 kmpl. In the city it gives just 12kmpl. Negatives: Brakes are not sharp and not good. Engine noise is high. Out dated music system and dicky space is very small and only two persons can sit in the back seat and under thigh support therein does not exist in the backseat. Spares cost a bomb. Positives: You will enjoy driving, very stable and very comfortable smooth drive for long journeys ,very great torque and you will easily overtakes likes of fortuners and safaris and a host of other vehicles on the highways. Absolutely no body roll at all and you can sit or even your wife can sit a whole day in this car for a long journey. Lots of cabin space and head room. You will not like to sell it if you enjoy driving.

Mine has done 1.3L km and still going strong. On the highways, it still manages to overtake the Kias and Cretas easily.

If you slide the rear two corner seats forward and you can easily seat 2 people like a 7 seater. I had yeti for 7 years and it was the best car i had ever owned.never ever broke down ,never gave any big repair bills.my max bill for the biggest repairs is 35,000/- in 1,25,000kms driven in 7 years.

Wonder what was the problem with the car. I own a Laura TSI and it's absolutely lovely to drive but to be honest I'm very often dealing with some mechanical problem or the other.. Yeti is still a rare commodity n best amongst peers. I’m using since 2012 and it never disappointed. I shall buy again even if launched now. Also own a Toyota Fortuner but prefer Yeti on long routes as it has phenomenal handling great power and super performance. Love it.
