This is great, I got a bus and I’m also looking to maintain the A/C that came with it. This was a huge help. Idk why people get rid of these.

Cool vid😀 Good info to know. It seems like you're to small a fish to fry for those A/C guys since they're used to getting orders for a fleet of vehicles which sucks. But they'd have to service some of those so you'd think they'd be able to sell a single replacement unit like you're asking for. Weird. Glad you're not going 2x4 construction, just not ideal in vehicles with all the movement. Great series👍

Great information. Thank you. On mine it has a knob that is on the passenger side of the rear a/c unit. Can you tell me what that is for?

Are you able to get cooling w/o running the gas engine? My 2016 e450 transit has two batteries under the middle lower chassis. that powers everything. I can run the ac and the evaporator under the driver seat but it only blows cool till I run the engine and it runs ICE cold instantaneously. Do you know of a way to get it to blow that cold w/o running the 10 cyl gallons per mile engine?

Excellent video. I am wondering though. Do both the back AC and the front AC systems run off of the same compressor, or do they each have their own attached to the engine?

same compressor on the motor

I have a 1996 ford e450 shuttle bus ac on dash and ac in back. My question is how many pounds do I fill it and also is there 2 separate fill spots for front and rear ac for the Freon. ?

I have a 2001 Chevy G3500 shuttle that I've been converting into a tiny house. I kept my A/C but have no idea where to begin to get it working. I can hear it running but no cold air is coming out, any ideas what could be the issue? The front A/C kicks on but the air isn't cold either, the seller charged it and said he put in freon but it still isn't cooling. .

My bus has the same set up by MCC. When I power in AC it kicks on for one second then shuts off. I’ve had it filled. Any idea what might be causing this? Any first steps I can take. Two shops haven’t been able to diagnose it

I have a carrier system in mine and for some reason the heater heats up when i use the ac. Any thought?

We just got an 03 E450 shuttle bus with 7.3 turbo diesel. The front A/C works (although it only blows out the defroster), but the rear only blows hot air. I’m guessing it’s something electrical that’s not letting the Freon get to the rear unit. A valve or something maybe?

Check the vacuum line under the passenger kick panel follow it through the firewall to the engine bay.

We convert to 110 cause when the vehicle is off we have no a/c and unless your off grid there is power everywhere

I have a shuttle bus with a carrier unit on the inside. I just want to cap the line under the bus where the two fans are located in case I decide to get another unit in the future. I have no idea how to do this could you give me some advice. At this point I have the ac down and all the wires disconnected .

Hey good vid! I have been working on a Carrier bus ac system 5lb. system was low . Filled her up and compressor is working fans all work fine but at evaporator there is cool and warm air blower through the vent !!! At edges you can feel the cold air but move over an inch or two and there's hot air !! Any ideas on what's going on here?? Sounded like yours is very close to this one. It is an 06' international bus

The reason rip them out and replace with mini-splits is because when your parked and sleeping unless your motor is running 24/7 you have no ac....that doesn't work for me

@WanderingBeast2 жыл бұрын
