Québécois family w/ two toddlers decide to convert a school bus into a Tiny Home for full time life on the road. Their goal - make it to Mexico, but also travel all around North America and visit the National Parks. They are hoping their sense of adventure will rub off on their young kids.

Great idea on solar, the only thing I don’t like it sits so high above your roof

@@OntheFarmAus it's actually as low as we could put it since we have roof vents and fans that we needed space for. It's also good to have air flow under the panels. In the near future we are going to put a 6"x20' pipe for an outdoor shower up there.

@@sunnytheskoolie674 wow cool idea 6 inch x 20 ft pipe would be nice shower. 106 liter of water capacity for a family of 4 is great. I would say 10ft is enough because 1.5 gallons per foot means 15 gallons of water is enough for 4 people to shower quickly.

I ❤this family… they are so happy to be Boondocking , and traveling with their home and kids is awesome. They have a lovely home and shared what they did and upgraded to like the Zombie proof door 🚪 with tempered glass (that’s a win for me 👍). I wish them happy and safe travels 💕 .

I grew up on the road, and miss it. Got to know many interesting people from so many places and still cross paths once in awhile with people from way back. We had only old school phone booth pay phones most of those years as did the other travelers. Yet, it was a very social life. 💖😊

back in the late 70's I wanted to do that as a recent widow and kids no longer at home. However well meaning family scared me into not going forth. I have regretted this all these years. Now house poor and old. Your home is awsome. thanks for sharing!

I wish this channel included what these people do. Do they work from home? Did they work really hard for 10 years and now they are taking a few years off? Do they work through winters? Are they retired? Are they independently wealthy? I'm just curious because it would be nice for everyone to see how they can afford to live this way and could we (the viewers) do the same?

Very well thought out build. I live on my sailboat on the Columbia River at a very nice marina. I have done the liveaboard thing for most of the last 40 years and it suits me very well. Also, it is a very cheap way to live if you know how to maintain your own boat.

Derek - Excellent build. Unreal solar - for real. I've haven't seen anybody's set up like yours, especially the batteries. They won't be abused like most, they're gonna stay sweet for a long time. Love their setup! Also the new paint on bus and car are great! Also I live full time in my 1994 Winnebago Warrior going on 5 years and I’m 61. I think no matter the age if you are healthy enough and you want to see what is out there before you die. You should just sell everything and do it! I beat kidney cancer and I have congestive heart failure. I sold everything and bought Xena my 25 foot class A. I have no regrets and I have seen and experienced things I would have never experienced if I had stayed in my home. I’m living my dream of filming and making memories! Great video! I love their tiny home!

@@Qrtuop you’re allowed your opinion but have you actually tried it ? Do you have young children or school age kids? As someone that’s done events and worked in schools this generation needs a better way then what’s going on there and I believe this is a great start. Do you realize how many families are doing this and what a great community this is ? If you’re so against it then why do you watch? I grew up in the 70’s and my parents were teenage hippies that traveled and I loved it 🥰

@@tallouse2146 It has been great for the kids to grow like this. What we have found 1. they are extremely social, can talk and have a good converstaion with all ages even up to adults and many 20-30 year olds will sit and talk to our girl. She has to make new friends right when we stop somewhere. 2. They are becoming very courageous, they go on adventures most adults are scared to go on. They are not helicopter parented so they are developing their own boundaries and they do dangerous things safely and it is great to watch. 3. They meet new cultures and see how many different people live which has been a great life experience in my life as I have traveled to many different countries(Derek). 4. They are learning the value of finaces even at a young age. They had to sell a lot of their big toys before we came on this journey and they got to do what they wanted with the money they made. They had to choose what to sell and what to keep. 5. They play all the time. Since we go to new places often they do get to ge outside(unlike many gaming kids) and explore and make forts and climb trees and swim in the ocean and build sand castles and slide down big sand dunes...It is a massive back yard for kids. As our eldest grows we also see the need for more long term friends and consistent friends, but that can happen when we settle back down.

They sell "Fire balls" that you can put in w/your electronics & batteries, if there is ever to much heat or potential fire, they explode & put it out! I'm not sure if there's foam or a dry powder in it, however, many bus/van life people use them & swear by them, they're ingenious & of course great for safety! Beautiful bus & family, safe & happy travels!
