Anyone else just on a nostalgic trip listening to every song from their childhood ? Very sentimental late night edit: Wow, didn't expect this attention. I'm 19 now, close to finishing my first year of college. I remember when I was 11, listening to this kind of music, life felt so ambiguous and intimidating. Now that I think I've found my purpose and my direction in life, it's a bit less ambiguous and a bit less intimidating. I love you all, even though none of us know each other. We're all members of a special new generation, a new kind of human existence. Remember you all have control over your lives and can put your best foot forward to make yourself happy and proud, and to make that young person who once heard this song, and all those other songs that define your younger years, proud and happy too.

If it weren't for Deadmau5 he probably would have never realmed into EDM and just stayed into punk. If you didn't know he used to be a lead singer in a punk band (and a good one at that). Funnily enough he befriended Joel and showed him his music and Joel (Deadmau5) actually really loved it And now Skrillex makes good music and Deadmau5 is... Well deadmau5 whatever. Like 2 or 3 good songs lmfao

yea, there's this dude named Voltarix who literally JUST came onto the scene, he did an edit of skrillex's remix of la roux's "in for the kill", he also DJs a lot and is all about "giving life back to dubstep" and i hear crazy potential in this dude, you can look up "in for the kill skrillex voltarix edit" and it should come up@@crawlzzz

Not being the genre police, this style of music it is closer to "complextro" or "electro house", check out more of those genres if you would like to hear something similar or still want to hear "dubstep" just like this. I highly recommend Savant, Wolfgang Gartner, or even some old Porter Robinson! I have more suggestions if you would like some references.

@@criminaltimesinfinity3418 I got you. I will suggest a mixture of old complextro/electro house to check out if you haven't already. Plus some different flavours of this particular genre. I will do another reply with more recent stuff. Old classics: Mord Mustang - Like The Rainbow. This is basically what popularised electro house/complextro in my opinion. More progressive influences but the drop is worth the wait and the long build ups are nice breaks. Al Bizzare - Fire Breazze. Sounds like Ghosts n Stuff, Deadmau5 is kinda part of all this stuff so I am including this. Chemical Brothers - Hey Boy Hey Girl (Far Too Loud Remix). Honestly Far Too Loud has such a huge sound and very aggressive sounding, check out their other songs if you enjoy this. Lets Be Friends - Manslaughter. Same sorta vibes as Far Too Loud, but I have to mention this guy since he is now JOYRYDE making bass house music. Spencer & Hill - Dance (Dirty Loud Remix). Both these artists have made complextro/electro house, so a good way to get two more artists in one song. Wolgang Gartner - Wolfgang's 5th symphony. I have to mention this dude because he still makes electro house/complextro and has worked with Skrillex and Deadmau5. Savant - Starscream Forever. This man is genre personified I URGE YOU to look at his music and how incredibly diverse it is. Plus he literally has savant syndrome and is just on another planet, not everything he makes is for everyone but I have so much respect for him. Virtual Riot & Sub.Sound - Where Are You. I mean it's Virtual Riot, I can't not mention him in this list, and sub sound has some decent complextro too. Virtual Riot - Sugar Rush (Centron Remix). Speaking of VR, this Centron remix is fucking great for that funky flavour! Porter Robinson - I'm On Fire. I can't not mention his old catalog, shit still bangs. Darth & Vader - Return Of The Jedi. A Brazilian touch, along side the Dirty Loud, these guys also had a pretty big sound. Charles Deluxe - Funkee Krunch. If you want more FUNK in your complextro, this guy does it like no one else, but sad he doesn't produce anymore. Def check his other songs. Insan3Lik3 - Bliss. On the same wavelength of more funky and light hearted Electro/Complextro. Still sometimes active. Monstercat stuff but shit was banging back then so I will mention another next. PIXL - Astrocat. Great song IMO and I still think is making tunes. That's a good place to start, I will share more recent electro/complextro in the next reply.

it is insane how many childhood memories you can tie to one song. No bills, no stress, just the moment of being an early teenager, playing it at school, coming back and playing MW2 / Black ops with the lads, not understanding how life would be when you are an adult. Skrillex has never really been dubstep! This song starts off house and many of his early tracks are house not dubstep. It just he started blending the dubstep bass sounds.

Así es, yo también tengo 24 ahora y recuerdo que cuando lo escuché a los 13, había mucho debate sobre si el Dubstep se podía considerar música ya que era tan revolucionario y novedoso que la gente no lo comprendía.
