Firstly, unlike most of the Left and the Woke, I respect your right to your opinion. But the truth is that there is more fact based content on SKY in a day than on the ABC in a year. The ABC has, for many years, shown itself to be Left-Wing and Woke. This is despite the usual denials from ABC management. What has always impressed me with the ABC is that they don't let insignificant things like facts and truth get in the way of their reporting. The real outrage with the ABC is that it is tax-payer funded.

I don't know who the PM thought he was pleasing by mixing in this sort of company. I hoped the ALP would win last year and they did. I hoped Albo would be a better PM than Scomo and that seemed to be happening. It's true that you can tell a person's character from the company he keeps and if he keeps bad company what can you say? After this I think voting Greens [1] makes more sense. Queensland voters did it and it worked.

You don’t have to watch it if you don’t agree with it. The things ACMA pulled out of the over 80 submissions were literally nothing. The second one with coral cover was literally released as a judgement on the reef bit after that segment. So yes he did end up being right. When it comes to the first one, I agree, he should’ve been less hyperbolic and presented the timeline. Rudd failed.

@@shauns5680 Who is playing for what? Heat pump systems are becoming more efficient and more affordable every year and eventually pay for themselves in savings. Heat pumps are also more common than you might expect, split system air conditioners are extremely common here and they are all heat pumps. When the air conditioner is operating as an air conditioner it is moving heat from inside a living space to outside a living space. When it’s functioning as a heater it is pumping heat from outside the living space into the living space.

Media has always done this. The ushering of the printing press led to huge issues with fake news as people printed their own posters with gossip and fake news and hung them around towns, stirring vigilantes. And the Yellow Journalism of the late 19th century by the Hirst Press makes Murdoch's lies look like small fries. The reason why we have watch dogs like ACMA is because in the past there was so many issues. The problem is with the internet age, social media, youtube and foreign news sources have circumnavigated many of the safe guards that ensured accurate reporting.

Sky news behaviour demonstrates that without proper accountability in the form of hefty fines and gaol terms that nothing will change. In fact it will probably get worse as the grubbiness gets grabbier as they realise there's more money in that. While our regulatory bodies fail to hold these corporations and they're overpaid executives to account, then it is reasonable to argue that our regulatory bodies are guilty of dereliction of duty and therefore guilty, or perhaps even more guilty than the corporations that seek to make money through nefarious means.

I am an engineer. It's pretty well known that gas heaters are far more efficient than electrically powered heaters. Modern gas heaters especially will only lose about 3 to 10% of the energy that's converted from the combustion of the gas. Electrical heaters are less economical in the conversion of electrical energy to heat (usually via a heating element) and that's not counting the conversion between fossil fuel to electricity (usually only about 30% efficient). The game changer are electrical heat pumps powered by non-fossil fuels or gas heaters powered by renewable gas (i.e non fossil-fuel methane), but that's not what Boris was proposing as most people in the UK don't have non-fossil fuel sources of power.

Electrical heaters are perfectly efficient at converting electrical energy into heat - there are no flue losses and there is no cold air drawn into where the combustion occurs, or risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.

7:10 Rather than the claim that the UK will be forced to replace all their gas heaters. I'm far more concerned with Sky's weird obsession with claiming a heat pump is "desperately inefficient" as compared to gas furnaces. Everything I've ever read says they are about 3 times as efficient, as heat pumps don't actually generate heat, but move it around. And they can be used as coolers in summer. It appears Sky is desperate for gas merchants to continue to make their profits.

Watch literally every other piece on the liberal government from back then and you’ll see it. They’re far from unbiased. Just like how sky is for the right, ABC is for the left (although it is closer to centre than the Guardian). I don’t see you complaining about no character assessments on the big bully himself, Kevin Rudd. The only decent PM we’ve actually had over the last decade and a half is Julia Gillard and before her we had John Howard who was also quite good.
