Doctors have clue about withdrawal , I have been in withdrawal for 6 months, I am living proof I am not anxious or depressed but in withdrawal my head is bursting and on fire and my short time memory is gone insomnie , and about 30 other symptoms of antidepressant withdrawal the dangers of coming off these drugs are 100 times worse than the problems before going on the , take the prescription away from a GP and leave it to the psychiatrists and psychologists as Doctors have 8 minutes to see you and diagnose you its quicker to write a prescription what this is doing to peoples lives is a scandal bigger than anything in many years and drug companies are making Billions .

I'm 7 months off of sertraline and still get waves of withdrawal sweats , chills anxiety. I jad horrendous withdrawal to the point I felt I was on some hard drug . I was so scared . Wish I'd never touched the poison . I went on them for panic attacks.

Big business calls it a really nice name…”discontinuation syndrome” I’m a 5 year survivor of PAWS. The most disturbing thing I found out when I investigated 14 Doctors here in Australia. They have zero clue and gas light you when you say it’s withdrawals.

This was three years ago and nothing has changed.. I was on sertraline 9 months tapering for 5 . I had depersonalisation on 50 mg , freaked me out so tapered slowly although not as slow as I should according to the forum zoloft should be illegal. I had horrendous withdrawal sweats, chills , even hallucinations which freaked me out I thought I'd end up in hospital. This happened every time I dropped a dose. I even used liquid in the end . My gp is clueless as they all are about these withdrawal. She didn't believe me I could tell . It really is disgusting that these doctors are not trained in this. They taper you way too fast. Some people like me have really bad withdrawal. All my gp did was prescribe something else . I've been off them 7 months and still get waves of withdrawal sweats, chills , anxiety its horrible. These poisons effect the hypothalamus in the brain that controls body temperature hence the sweats. I feel as if I'll never get better . The chemical imbalance thing is a myth. They hand these out like sweets because they have no time for mental health patients, I'm so angry 😤

I came off since june this year after a 4 months tapering. Zoloft I used them for 4 years. 2 of which where alright but the latest 2 where terrible. i got depersonalisation in 2019 till 2020 with the worst brain fog imagineable. thats why i stopped. from march till september 2021 I got sweats, heavy anxiety, chest pains, hallucinations. the worst of all hormone imbalance. i'm a young guy. working out for 6 years, but it fucking ruined me. i'm 5 months off and i still got withdrawal symptoms today. not always but the depersonalisation is sometimes a real pain the ass. Tbh, sometimes i believe the people that made these pills and give them away to young people and since the covid pandamic too children. they should all be put against the wall or be put in a jet and thrown above the pacific ocean.

European countries provide titration packs allowing slow titration. Uk nhs have rejected this presumably through cost. They can be bought in Holland with uk prescription.
@FreeWanderingThinker

Unfortunately only one pharmacy in Holland does that. In the other European countries there is also no help with the withdrawal process.

The doctor has recommended I take venlafaxine through a psychiatrists recommendation after I went through a severe depression crisis and because I’ve had depression on and off for 30 years. I’m reluctant to take them as I’m not sure I can put up with the side effects or risk it plus I’ve heard getting off it in the future is very difficult

All argument, no synthesis. The dialectic of the argument between "Psychiatry and Psychology" is so polarized that neither can evaluate the argument rationally and create a reasonable synthesis within it. Without a synthesis, both sides will continuously fight each other and make no headway. With a synthesis, they can agree on facts and positions, allowing both sides to focus on creating progress.

I defo think its true there arnt enough therapies on the NHS for mental health it is pretty much all GPs can do these days pretty much just like giving a kid sweets to cheer them up and stop them "moaning" i know all ive ever been offered is prozac, sertraline, etc but i dont think GPs can do much else

4 days into going cold turkey after 5+ years of 375mg Venlafaxine Compared to previous efforts to come off them this has luckily been better, still all the usual zaps, ticks, sweats and emotions but far more controllable and im 100% determined to be rid of this evil thats been poisoning me. If I could turn back that clock & talk to myself about the reality of these medications... the power of hindsight eh

@@teamburyoutdoors6989 Heya, well it didnt turn out so well in the end to be honest. I got about a month into being off them and pretty much had a full breakdown, I felt like I was losing my mind. It seemed to be a combo of the withdrawal plus all the emotions coming back etc that just overloaded me. Had a few really bad nights before I got to see a doctor again. Long story short im back on antidepressants, I went through all the various types online, checking side effects, what theyre good for and had a few that I suggested to the Dr and ended up trying Fluoxetine (Prozac US) I know it seems odd going for what is now an older one but after a few months on it now im really a lot better, hugely in fact. Started off on 20mg and upped it to 30mg where I am now and everything is pretty steady. I really would never recommend Venlafaxine to anyone though as looking back it just seemed to mask everything rather than really help things get better and the withdrawal was just insane & wouldnt wish it on anyone. Sorry youre finding it tough at the moment, are you coming off a similar dosage? If theres anything I can do to help, even just chatting here then feel free to shout.

@@TheBaronVonBoom sorry you had a break down and had to go back on them. If you feel better on Prozac then do what is best for you. Well my story is a little different I was on lexapro for two years at 20 mg. Then I also had a mental breakdown during Christmas time of last year. So the doctor put me on 37.5 mg of Effexor for a week and then 75 mg , I didn’t last a month on it. Made my depression/anxiety worse so I decided to stop taking it. So now I feel like the Effexor and lexapro are coming out of my body which has been tough . Not sure if it’s the Effexor Or lexapro that I’m withdrawing from. I recently started microdosing with magic mushrooms at a super small dose and haven’t noticed an incredible change only been doing it for a week now , but I’m going to try and keep it up. I wish you well
