Premier rides are always pretty good but their trains are the only real things that need work

Skyrockets zero g roll is probably the best one I’ve personally experienced.

Last year, the second half of this ride was genuinely good imo. The ride was consistently hauling, and the bunny hills at the end gave floater airtime. It was my number 2 in the park when it ran like that

These are by far the best Premier trains I have been on. Ice Breaker is not horrible except for getting in and out of. I had my first ride on Tempesto last week (I have ridden Tigris before though) Man, that hurt about every part of my body, lol.

Sky Rocket feels like someone built a coaster in a video game and after the first 2/3s they hit auto complete. Its still a fun ride

It's interesting that it remained a prototype and the Sky Rocket II sold better. With a few changes it could be a nice and not too extreme launch coaster model interesting for other parks, too. But maybe the Sky Rocket II filled a specific niche with its small footprint and there is too much competition with other compact launch coasters to make the Sky Rocket I successful.

If the second half was lower to the ground, it would have more speed and Sky Rocket would've been world class!

i find the holding brake on the tophat is the best part of the ride as i like the front and you just hang there for a second

Skyrocket 5:05 is the perfect way to end a day at Kennywood if you are hitting up PNC for a 6:40. After the ride, you go to the baseball game and will have enough time to enjoy a pre-game brew or two to end 4 or five hours of riding the rides on a weekday. Go Bucs!

If the ride was as half decent in the last third this ride would be absolutely elite

My favorite this about this ride is that it feels like a prototype. Like it almost feels like a backyard coaster (an impossibly good one, but still) Probably mostly because of those weird trains.

One of the more underrated rides in the park

I don't mind the final 3rd it acts as a cool down after stiring you up and if you get a good run those areas are their own elements of enjoyable

It looks better than a Sky Rocket 2. Reminds me of how Jest Star 1 by Scwartzkopf was better than Jet Star 2 (but not as good as Jet star 3 which I've never ridden).

I'm not bothered by the milder elements. Everything is else is so good, so that's all I care about. However, if people were claiming this to be among the best coasters in the world, then I would want to point out the dull elements to put it in proper perspective. And of course, with any review, it's certainly worth noting the dull elements. But they don't bother me.

KW jumped on this. Should have waited until the issues were fixed. You never take a prototype ride. This coaster had tons of issues and now they got another prototype with Steel Curtain and it’s down the entire year. Should have spent the money for a B&M

I like Sky Rocket up until the third loop. After that, I agree that it completely dies. It's a fun little coaster, but if the line is long, I'll skip it.

Have you actually ridden it? The turnpike ride was more thrilling. It's a force less family coaster and my most hated coaster in the park. It's the coaster equivalent of a cream puff, looks nice, but has no substance! Then again, Kennywood struggles with any non wood coasters.

Skyrocket ultimately is a forgettable ride at Kennywood. Compared to Steel Curtain, Phantoms Revenge, and Thunderbolt; it just doesn't do it for me. Putting a a trim on your tophat is pretty horrendous. To the ride's credit, it has very fun inversions and the drop off the midcourse is great but those bunny hills only deliver in light rain or by some miracle of the coaster gods. The capacity is horrendous. Not only do the cars only seat 12 riders but the amount of time it takes a train to park in the station after the other has dispatched is pretty abysmal. Your video actually catches that at around 4:10 when you can see the other train has passed the tophat but the other one hasn't even parked. These restraints are so painful too.
