@skydive vibes I am from Germany so I got my licence after 25 jumps. From here on my progress is only monitored by the amount of jumps I do. I am at 66 right now and the next level is ~100 from where I am allowed to talk to a experienced skydiver who can coach me using a camera (GoPro) etc. For all other specialities Heli/ night etc there are recommendations from the German USCPA (DFV) when you can do it. But the DZ boss is always in charge and can decide if you have a go or not. Once you reach (250 I think) you can make an additional trainers licence which allows you to official start telling solo jumpers what they can do...but not aff students for that you need a special aff teacher licence... But as you see 66 jumps I am fairly new so I have still a lot to learn;)

@Skydive Vibes. B license 170ish jumps. Fun fact, many don’t know or think about it. but after 100 jumps you can do a FJC for tracking suits and start flying a tracking suit. I did it at jump 130 or so at skydive Perris with Scotty Bob and now am flying the Squirrel, Sausage too tracking suit and having a blast!!! I motivated a few skydivers to follow the same path :) 💪🏼👍🏼

I’ve got like 60 jumps but I can’t find any canopy courses in my area (North Carolina). My rigger friend told me I can print out some paperwork from the USPA website and get them signed off by a certified instructor to sort of side step the canopy course. I’m thinking of doing it that way and then taking a canopy course this summer that way I can start doing night jumps this spring 😏

Another great video! Perhaps it may be an opportunity however to also discuss the progression of the CSPA as there are indeed nuanced differences. More so, I feel it could be beneficial to clarify some confusion I noticed some DZ having between the progressions, while I had the pleasure of adding another country to my logbook when I went home this past June for my brother's wedding. In particular, while it's true the CSPA's A license doesn't permit jumping with others (unless it's with a coach), it's not because they have more stringent requirements; it's because the CSPA A license omits the 2 key categories (G and H) present in the USPA A license, which are all about skills necessary for jumping with others (such as fall rate control, tracking etc.).
@SkydiveVibes
@SkydiveVibes 4 жыл бұрын
That is right. I'll try to clarify that at some point. Thanks. I am preparing a series for the CSPA so stay tuned. ;)

Hey, is that the DZ offering jumps out of a biplane? While I was at ChutingStar in GA for my FAA Sr Rigger's Cert, Laura mentioned going to a DZ in TN for such a jump; sounds super cool! PS: To any who may be considering their FAA Sr Rigger's Cert, I'd highly recommend ChutingStar's program; by the time you leave there, you'll have had the opportunity to pack most of the rigs currently available on the market, learned a ton from an incredibly knowledgeable Master Rigger, score some cool swag/gear, and made connections with other Riggers, from whom to bounce ideas.

Why it takes so long to be able to wear a camera?!?!? You can jump at night with 50 jumps but 200 jumps just to use a camera in your helmet? why is that?
@keeponwishin
@keeponwishin 2 жыл бұрын
A couple reasons. First off, a camera poses an entanglement hazard with the parachute system as well as other skydivers’ parachute systems, and the rule is in place to allow enough awareness and know how to both prevent an accident and what to do if an emergency arises. Secondly, a camera also poses a distraction hazard to a new skydiver only focusing on “getting the shot” rather than on their position in the sky and their altitude.

It's different at least in germany (and maybe so it is in europe). Here you just get one license and for further privileges you just have to get qualifications by doing instructor jumps. So for example you need to get a relative work qualification to do group jumps. Blue Skies!

@@SkydiveVibes Don't start with the french system if you don't want to freak out. We have A (15 jumps), B (30), C (200) and D (300), but with different meanings than the USPA one. We also have the "BPA" at 100 jumps. Then certification for group jumping but only on our belly, certification for sitfly and tracking, another one for freeflying including head-down, one for precision landing competition, one for canopy relative work, a two-level certification for swooping, a three-level one for wingsuit, and of course certifications to be allowed to issue all those certifications. You also have to do a special formation to be allowed to do tandem videos. Then there is a whole bunch of different monitor rating. And last but not least, two different tandem certification (one by the national federation supervised by the sport ministry, another one by a group supervised by the transport ministry).

Skydive Vibes I initiated owning procedures a little higher than normal, 4500ft, just in case. The opening was a little harder than I was used too but it opened! 😂 That was a real confidence builder for me! Subsequent pack jobs have been better each time. I’m really thankful for Chris at my DZ for constantly answering my questions and letting me shadow him as he packed.

It wasn't mentioned, but you don't have to go through all licences to progress. What I mean is, that you can go straight from A to C (or D for that matter, even though it'll be weird). In fact, many jumpers don't get a B at all. Canopy corse can be waivered off, Camera at 200 is not a requirement but a reccomandation as far as I know Fill your proficiency card!!!!!

Are you under the USPA? The CSPA requires you to get the previous license to the one you want so you can't do that.

@@SkydiveVibes oh you Canadians folks. I'm sorry, it's important to mention. Indeed I'm USPA. Also important! Students, your currency time is up to 30 days! A is 60 B is 90 C & D, if I'm not wrong, is 180. Cspa doesn't require coach jump (and if the dzo insists, try to convince them otherwise, it'll save you money!) USPA requires a coach jump I'm a forever out of currency A licensed jumper USPA, with 40 jumps in over 10 dzs around the world.

@@SkydiveVibes previously in Australia you only needed to qualify for the previous license to the one being applied for. Rarely were licenses skipped with the only occurrence being a qualified skydiver moving to Australia and joining the APF to get the equivalent that I recall. Most people want the whole collection. It has now changed to "applied for and be eligible to be issued". They are now referred to as "Certificate" instead of "Licence" as well.

i have been obsessed with skydiving for years. i think it's the closest experience to flying. however, i have yet to realise my dream. that being said, besides the extensive studying & preparations needed to skydive solo. how many tandem jumps do i need before my solo dive?
@keeponwishin
@keeponwishin 2 жыл бұрын
It depends on your program. Many places will allow you to go solo your first jump. Other places may require you to do one or two tandems before your first solo jump. Also, with the relatively recent prevalence of wind tunnels, some DZs located nearby may recommend or require a certain amount of tunnel time prior to jumping. As an experienced instructor I’d recommend, if you’re close to one, 5 or 10 minutes in the wind tunnel is a huge help, and do at least one tandem prior to starting your licensing program.
