"He's keen to get home." "Health & Safety carry on" The best of British
@Helbore9 жыл бұрын
***** You also don't have that many armed guards in stations, with everyone carrying on like regular rush hour. You also can't slide down the area between escalators, because they have little triangular signs telling you to stand on the right. But then MI6 doesn't actually exist (its SIS) and there's no such department as the double-O section. James Bond is also fictitious. So I'll give them a pass on the other real-life inconsistencies.

@christopher smith Mate, everyone from the UK is British and England is part of the UK. If the character or actor is English then calling them British is equally as valid as calling them English. Same as calling a Welsh person British, or a Ontarian person Canadian, is equally valid. Stop arguing over something when there's literally nothing to argue about.
@jackbarnes74324 жыл бұрын
@christopher smith Well that's fine. If you're English then you're free to call yourself English, British, or both. I'm half English myself. But just because you self identify as English only and don't call yourself British doesn't mean that it's wrong to call an Englishman British. You're making a complete ass of yourself because you're arguing off the basis of your own personal preference rather than fact, and the fact is that people from England are both English AND British. Oh, and as a side note, coming from someone who is both half Australian as well as half English, most people from outside the UK tend to favour the demonym of British - rather than English, Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish - for the sake of simplicity.

@christopher smith No, English people are both English and British. It's up to the individual as to which denonym they prefer to place over the other. And even if the stuff you said in your comment was true, you've still just admitted that it is valid to call English people British, meaning that there is nothing wrong with the guy calling the characters 'brits'.
@christoph4044 жыл бұрын
@christopher smith Question for you, where is "Skyfall" ? It is Bond's family home in Scotland. In this movie Bond goes back to where his father is from and where his family home is, Glen Coe in Scotland, and his mother is Swiss... so with a Scottish father and Swiss mother what does that make Bond? Not English that is for sure,.... but he is British.. The author Ian Flemming wrote Bond's Scottish back story, if you knew anything about Bond or had read any of the books you would not be banging on about how he is English rather than British,...you'll be telling us next that Wimbledon winner Andy Murray is English and not British, or is he Scottish first and British second? The only Bond actor to accurately fit the nationality of Bond was Sean Connery, a Scotsman....not an Englishman... so that kinda defeats your assertions about English rather than British doesn't it? James Bond is a British secret agent, end of, just let go of the English rather than British thing dude cos you are talking rubbish.

Daniel Craig makes one bad ass James Bond (maybe the best ever). For he fits the image, in looks and temperament, of what I always believed Bond to resemble, and be like, and measure up to. Basically Daniel Craig portrays that iconic character in such a cold blooded and ruthlessly efficient manner, with this unfazed and devil may care insouciance, all while projecting this sort of grim detachment from his inner, nagging conscience, along with displaying this tormented ambivalence that radiates from within (it's all written on his face). He becomes James Bond (Craig has nailed it!). GREAT FUCKING job Danny boy!
@CosmicTeapot8 жыл бұрын
+Taylor Ahern An interviewer asked him what did he do in his acting of the character that made it one of the best portrayals of James Bond in history and he replied ''James Bond is a bad guy. He just happens to work for good guys''.

Yes. James Bond is one bad motherfucker!
@taylorahern27148 жыл бұрын
I would also designate James Bond as this quasi-psychopath, or this hard core dude with psychopathic tendencies. And Daniel Craig nailed it, he captured that essence perfectly (it was almost as though his steely eyed and laconic character in Layer Cake was this warm up for the iconic role that he would assume). Craig, you rock!!
@alexfryerpro19938 жыл бұрын
+Taylor Ahern Agreed. He does also display great brutality and sometimes very little empathy within his character. He does even convey a sense of a really flawed human being underneath the character's cold blooded armor (of course that is down to the writing). He's a character with pretty much the world partly on his shoulders. It's a burden for him. It's debatable whether he can classified as a hero or a villain "working for the good guys" but netherless it's James Bond. And Craig pretty much nails every aspect of the character.
@WhiteSlift8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I do really like him as Bond. He doesn't have a model-like face and is rough and a bit brutish at times. He's alot better than Brosnan, who was too softy-like IMO.

Warning: this is a rant Completely unrealistic to Londoners. That train isn't used on the distict or circle line (green or yellow line) 2:50. It's used on the Jubilee line and those trains make weird noises when they come into a station. They also make the same noise coming out and they accelerate much faster (usually). Why did they go to all of the trouble to change the in carriage maps to the district line as well ( 4:50 ) train journeys on the tube are usually a lot more noisy as well, I don't know how some of the trains can even make so much noise as they go along the track.

1995/96 stock on the District Line! How unrealistic, the S stock are on the Circle Line or the D stock at the time of filming!

Which superspy-organization would have several exits in a top-security prisonroom?. Especially computercontrolled which can easily hacked. 3 doors, each with different locks, one way in and out, and guards seperated from the hallway with guns to prevent gasing.
